You need to sue this greeder! You have a case! Did you read the link I provided about the puppy lemon law? |
I really don't trust the breeder will just let this pup die on his own. How are we to know if she causes him to die for some reason then blames it on OP? |
Poor Baby I hope he pulls through prayers yalls way! I understand vets have to make a living, but with situations like this I think they need to be more understanding and not charge so much not everyone is made of money and poor little Joey needs their help they are not compassionate at all crappy vet if you ask me, *I know you didn't have a choice at the time* I hope he pulls through to see your vet he is a cutie putie and the breeder from what I read should be ashamed of herself. |
Unfortunately animal control can't help me because even though I took him against doctors orders (couldn't pay). His instructions were give him the medicine he gave me, feed him every hour, and if he drastically changes take him to a vet ASAP. Currently he is stable. But since the breeder is technically following doctors orders animal control cannot force her to pay to take him today. Joey has pulled through this far. If I took him in I wouldn't be much help right now tommorow morning he will be going to the vet and we will see what the vet decides to do from there. I believe in miracles if the parasite medication the doctor gave him pulls through then he might just get better. The doctor said it could be a parasite or a liver shunt but more tests would have to be run. He said if it was a liver shunt they can't operate because he is too young/small so they would have to give him medication. He says even then there's a higher probability he wouldn't make it. The ER vet told me yeaterday and it still repeats itself in my head: "I'm sorry but I think Joey wasn't made for this world". Miracles happen all the time so I'm still staying positive and hoping he pulls through. If the inevitable happens then I know I have you guys to guide me on what to do but until then I will not give up on Joey. |
GOSH! I read this entire thread and what a monster!! I wish I were closer, I would've helped in anyway possible. I really hope the law is on your side with this one and you get first a foremost help with Joey's vet bills & he makes it. God forbid he doesn't, I hope that woman gets what's coming to her! I can only imagine how many other helpless babies & families have suffered what you and Joey are. Much love and prayers to you. |

I would have to agree with you. I know I am from a small town but it is very different here. My vet takes payments in select situations and when I have found a stray that needed helped he has even done so out of pocket. He is truly in it for the love of animals. I know other vets in my area that are not as understanding and will even keep a pet until a bill is paid. I work a second job as a phone operator at a medical answering service and we also answer for several vet offices. One thing about working here is that I never have any doubt about which vets I would and would not recommend based on the way they handle situations. Some people just should never be vets. |

Joey Look at it this way, if you had not taken Joey he would certainly have been PTS by this evil greeder. Thanks to you he is still with us, and as he is such a spunky little fighter he probably will make it. Your vet may be right, but so far no definite diagnosis has been made yet, so it could be some illness that could be cured if only we knew what it was. Keep the faith and hope that he will be kept alive until he is seen by the vet. .Praying for miracles as you are. |
