| Dry patches or pinched skin from Buddy Belt Hello everyone. I was running my fingers through Wallee's hair last night feeling for mats like I always do and noticed something brittle under his arm. I turned on the light and checked and noticed a what looks like a long scab. It looked like it was dry and cracked? Today I checked again and also checked under the other front arm and found the skin there was also looking cracked. I am not sure if it could be that his skin dried out from the last bath or if he got irritated from the Buddy Belt. I gave the BB to Jacqui to try on her boy as it just didn't seem to fit Wallee right. When I tightened it to fit his legs right, there wasn't much room under the buckle part. If I loosened it one hole it flapped on his legs. I just don't know whether it is was this or his bath that irritated his arm pits. I am not sure what to put on it if anything as it seems to be scabbed. Anyone ever experience this type of dryness from bathing or shampoos etc? I also noticed a dry patch in his part on his back this week. First time I have noticed this on him. I have not changed his food or anything, just tried a different shampoo. |

♥Love My 3 Furrbutts♥ Donating Member | Seems like the BB just didn't fit Wallee properly Cindy, bc it fits Orion perfectly! Wallee is long and lean, where Orion is thicker. No flapping on him at all, same with all the BB I have bought, I gave the Black on to my neighbor, it fits her little guy perfectly as well....he is a Shih Tzu. Not understanding the dry patches at all....is he dry anywhere else?

| ZoE has three BBs...and while I like the look, colours offered, and the concept of the step-in style, they did a number on her. I never used them long enough to hurt her skin, but they destroyed her hair! The rubbing broke alot of her hair off around her shoulders. Are the sore/dry spots just where the BB touches or are they elsewhere as well?

| I was thinking an antibiotic ointment like bacitracin might be good to apply to keep the scabbed areas moist, but I would definitely check 1st with the vet and make sure it wouldn't adversly affect him if he licked it off. Another thought I had was straight vit. E oil. That would be non toxic and would still keep those areas soft as they healed. This is also good information for me on the BB because I was thinking of getting one, but Huey is long and lean (nothing fits him right...too loose or too short) so it sounds like I shouldn't try one of those. Thanks!
