Well PETA is pretty much backed by the Hollywood elite. Most of which view a pocket pooch as prestigious as a Porche or diamonds from Tiffany. Instead of doing something about the, half their board of directors would each buy at least one.

There is some good out there but not all.

One in particular I can think of is Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattenson. They adopted a shelter dog when they were in Louisiana I believe it was. The poor guy was slated to be put down either that day or the next. Imagine that scared dog sitting on death row one minute and in a private jet the next.

I can't think of any celebrities that have pocket pooches. Paris Hilton and Brittany Spears have the smallest that I recall, and I don't think they are tiny, tiny. Most of the celebrity Yorkies I know of are normal size or even larger. Natalie Portman's Yorkie is larger than standard.

I get the impression that in Hollywood, the trend is toward larger dogs.
