| I think it should be lots of fun and great bonding expetience for you two. Hopefullu it will be positive reinforcement training. I've heard of lots of people saying the petco and petsmart trainers wete insisting on having the dog wear a collar. Do not give in to this if they ask you to put Bentley in a collar. Yorkies should wear harnesses only so that nothing is pulling on their delicate throats. It can lead to Collapsing Trachea. Luma went through puppy kindergarten, basic and advanced obedience through local trainers and she sometimes attends agility.

| I did the training at Petsmart with Sami. I used a harness not a collar. It was a good experience. I want to do it at Petco with Pixi so I can see if I can learn something different.

| I didn't do petco but I did petsmart and loved it our trainer still remembers us when we see her in the store and Callie is about to be 6! My trainer had no problem with a harness but some might so just stand your ground on using one.

| I did both Petco and PetSmart training with Sophie Kate, I had better results with Petco because the class was smaller. At PetSmart we had a larger class and Sophie Kate would not focus, she kept trying to get all the other dogs to play and climbing on people (we were kind of asked to comeback to a later class when she was more under control). I also trained with a Harness.

| Molly did her puppy training class at Petsmart - we had an awesome trainer and Molly is set to go for intermediate class starting in June. I used a harness and they never said what to use one way or the other but she said she was glad that I knew not to use a collar on a small breed dog |

| I took Gina to a puppy Petco class. The instructor told everyone to control their dogs. A yellow lab - many, many times larger than my little Gina jumped on her wanting to play and it scared Gina so much that she never ever would even look at another dog her whole life. What a terrible thing this was. We could never have a second dog because she would get so scared even a puppy would upset her. Just be really careful especially if larger dogs are enrolled.
