Yeah, who'd think right?.... This is what Minnie will def look like, with maybe a bit more fringing. Long coat chi's should be use, if you must do this mix. I don't knock designer breeds, all dogs came about the same way. The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine - Liver Shunt Research

One starting point. re recommendations for screening for liver shunt. This includes BATs. I have not had to go further than bats paired with the full blood screen I did with the Razzman.

A complete blood panel is often recommended by many. Establishing a baseline is always good. Then you need to decide how often it is done; and then be prepared for expanded panels if something comes back far off.

Don't worry about the hijack, we're just hanging out, killing time while waiting for Minnie's DNA test. I'll bring this up the next time Bella is at the vet. I did a little research and found that although Yorkies are 36 times more likely to develop liver shunts than other breeds, the number of Yorkies affected by liver shunts is only about 2%, thank God! I'm glad that the Razzman has been testing okay so far. Thanks for the link!

The discussions about liver issues are very interesting, and I wish it could all be moved to a new thread of it's own where we could all share info and thoughts about testing. It is informative and helpful, and would be nice to be able to find it without going through this long DNA thread.

So ya guys think Minnie will look like thst pic posted?? I c a difference in a few months. Lets c what the next few months turn out hehe. I love that she's unique. It makes her more special :)

Hers will come back well before the results from your breeding pair. How many days are left before you get back the results of your breeding pair? You are getting that done, aren't you?

I don't know if I missed it in this thread, but have you posted pictures of the parents? I think it would be helpful in seeing the coat and coloring of the parents.
