| Question about sentinel? Gizmo had his 2nd vet check today, he weighed in at 3.6 lbs at 5 months and is doing well. He had his last puppy shots and in 2 weeks I take him in for his rabies shot, Because they didn't want to do all shots at one time. His eyes water and she checked them out and he had some hair that was rubbing on it and it was irritated, so he is on eye drops for 2weeks, also they put him on sentinel for heartworm med. is this a good med does anyone else use this? |

| My Vet recommended it to me for Princess Sophie and for Hansel. It is the same medication as in Interceptor with an additional medication that kills flea eggs. Because it does not kill flea adults, I am also using a topical product. We haven't used this before but will be starting it next month. I believe the Interceptor is a medication that was removed from the market for a time due to problems with the product. The issues have been corrected and as such this medication with new formulation is now on the market. Because I know of several people who used the previous product with success and because my Vet used to recommend this product, I felt it was good to use it this year. I hope someone else will chime in with their thoughts or suggestions as I would be interested in hearing what others on YT will be/are using. Good luck!!

| Sentinel is fine but make sure if you use flea and ticks meds you use regular frontline or regular Advantix not Frontline plus or Advantix II or it will double the flea meds.

YT 2000 Club Member | If your little Yorkie is onlyl 3.6 lbs I personally would not do the rabies. I am just scared of that shot with the little dogs. Now the flea meds. I still haven't decided what to do. Just be careful with the little ones. Read the reactions to these meds on line and make a wise decision. I am really scared when the little dogs are on this stuff. It is poison but we have to do something. I am still hoping to find something natural to use but so far nothing. |

| Thanks everyone! feel a little better about giving him the sentinel, Vet said her opinion it was the best for the little ones, I trust my vet but like to check with you all too. Many wise people on here. As for the rabies shot It is something that we have to do here, we have to turn in copy of shot records to prove he is up to date on shots to landlord or get rid of the dog. |
