When the timing is right, you'll find one for a comfortable price. Did you do a search for yorkie rescues near you? I'd try those too.

What you posted at the start is a scam... avoid that!!

How far under $1000 are you hoping for? Bargain Yorkie puppies almost always end costing so much more in vet bills for liver shunts, giardia, coccidia, and many more health problems. A bargain Yorkie is no bargain.

The best you could do is to look for a really good breeder, an exhibitor, who has held back puppies as potential show dogs. They decide to release them between 6 months to 2 years and charge less than a puppy. It takes work to find them, but they are out there.

I know the process of searching is frustrating, but it is much less painful than having a poorly bred pup with costly health problems. Read through the many pages of the Sick & Injured forum to see what can go wrong.

I don't know anything about this breeder, but I ran across her website the other day, Taylor Made Yorkies, in Maine. This is a Show Breeder, but she also offers puppies to pet homes.

Her Yorkies are beautiful and I believe she has a couple of litters due in case you want to call her. Her number is on her blog.

Good luck!

The email in your first post sounds like another scam. Too many lose lots of money through these scams.

I honestly think you need to stay off those ads that is definitely a con artist too. A real breeder does not do business like this. Are you willing to just buy any Yorkie for a specific price? Deal directly with breeders, there are many threads on here about how to go about this or start another one. I'm worried that you are setting yourself up for disaster, be careful.

No that's fine and I'm sorry for sounding that way. I'm just frusterated. But yes I'm aware that yorkies are a costly puppy. I know that I can afford to own one but It's hard to just come up with $1000.00 to buy a pup. My husband just recently bought our home, I'm happy to finally be able to get a puppy. I'm just overwhelmed with how hard it is to find a puppy especially in my area from what I have found there are only 2 breeders in Maine that are registered...Neither of which have puppies or have puppies in my price range. I have even tried emailing a few people trying to work something out with them so I could get a pup and these people couldn't even respond to my emails. Again I"M very sorry for coming off the way I did.

Oh, I'm so sorry, I posted the info on Taylor Made Yorkies before I saw your post with a price range. I'm not sure about them, but you could check just to be sure.

In addition to the price of the pup, the first year of vet care including vaccinations, general exam, heartworm preventives and flea & tick meds, and spay or neuter is easily $1,000. That is for a healthy pup.

I could be spending this time being happy with my children...Someday a yorkie will pop up if it was meant for me to have one. For now I'm done with the aggravation...It's just a bummer because it seems like everybody i know can come across a good healthy puppy that is inexpensive...and 9/10 of these people shouldn't even own an animal at all! And Here I sit in a great position to own a puppy, all the time in the world to train it and take care of it, spoil it etc. At this point I have a feeling that because I can't afford the high price tags I keep seeing ( well other then scams) I won't be able to own one of these babies anytime soon. Thanks for all the advice and opinions they are all greatly appreciated.
I do not know what you are calling "too expensive".....but let me just point a little something out to you so you do not feel like you are getting taken advantage of. If you have found an ethical, responsible, reputable breeder, yes, you can expect to pay more for your puppy because of all the "best of everything available" that baby has been raised with. You will pay more right at the beginning, but you should expect to have a healthy puppy that is not going to cost you any more money in vet bills.....a rabies shot and spaying neutering and teeth pulling if necessary is all you should be facing that first year. Some breeders have very little overhead or maintainance invested in their babies, so they dump them on buyers at 6-8 weeks before they begin to start costing money for vaccinations, worming, well baby check, etc.....and you more than likely will have a sick puppy that will start to show symptoms within a week of you getting your precious baby home. Vet bills...depending on what all ends up being wrong with your baby, you may end up spending thousands of dollars trying to save the baby, and then lose it anyway.... So I would advise you to save your money, and invest in a well bred, healthy puppy that comes from a breeder that is there with you, for you, for the life of that puppy. Your access to her vast knowledge and expertise in the breed and the health and care of your puppy, is also included in the price of that baby. You must have an emergency fund to cover medical bills in case of accidents, probably 3-5 grand is a good reliable figure to count on "just in case" situations.

I've been a single parent raising two kids alone for the majority of their lives, so I get where you are coming from. But if you can't afford to drop $1,000 now, could you afford it a few months from now if you pup has an injury?

Like I said, I've been there....I'm still putting my two through college, so I'm still there But I don't like settling for things, so I save/budget for what I want.

So if you want a yorkie...let's assume you have $500 for it right now. So, put a $100 away every month for the next 5 months (or $50 away for the next 10 months) & then get one.

I just recently got my first yorkie. For some reason they are very popular here in Missouri. There is a local pet store here in my town and about 4 women (all family) own it. They have been breeders of yorkies and shih-tzus for many many years now. I have always seen yorkies and shih-tzus at the shop here and there. Just last week one of the women had a little yorkie (he's part of our family now), and she was selling him for $399. She said the only reason she had him is because a woman had wanted him, but decided on a poodle instead. And she told me that the only reason she was selling him for $399 was because he was 2lbs. at 8 weeks and was going to be a larger yorkie (around 7-10 lbs.). The ones that are going to be smaller when they are older (around 4 lbs.) she sells for at least $1,000. I couldn't believe that. But that is kind of the demand for yorkies. The smaller the better. Personally I wanted a little bigger yorkie. I would be scared of something that small, especially with 3 kids. They also have a guaranty on there dogs and they are registered and she had him up to date on his shots and worming and the vet said he was doing great. I wish you luck in finding your yorkie.

It is very frustrating trying to find a pup....if you need to take a step back, then do so...don't give up, the right one wil show up, when you least expect it.
