Hello and no it wasn't her fault he came into contact with another dog that infected him and my other pup last week.

Thankfully Mia the third dog tested negative for parvo. She's older so the vet said she her immune system was stronger. Everyone in the vets office cheered when it came back negative. Parvo from my research affects puppies more so than older dogs but its very sad, I learned from all of this and want to spread the message that we all need to be extremely careful with our babies. They were vaccinated, inside dogs that just came into contact with an infected dog showing no symptoms. Even if we walk into someone's home or to the yard and the parvovirus is there by walking inside the house our dogs are exposed. If we step on poo and walk inside the house the invinsible residue may carry the virus. It's a little more difficult for older dogs to get it but younger dogs haven't build their immunity yet so for all of us with puppies we need to be extra careful. My veterinarian suggested no dog parks until after 18 months to me it sounded a bit extreme but these two are going to have to deal with it. This whole experience reassured my love for my dogs, and I feel more bonded to them since we came home. Thank you to everyone whose supported us !!!

It is good that you are spreading awareness about parvo. So many owners are in too big of a hurry to take their pups to public places, and they need to know that even after vaccinations are complete, they can still be at risk for a while.

ETA: There's a ton of stuff out there that even vaccines don't cover, so waiting for their immune systems to mature is a good idea.
