Gracie never chewed my vanity or the walls. I did take up every movable object and the toilet paper though. As I said I was never gone more than 5 hours so she was never left alone regularly for long periods of time. Boredom can cause a pup to look for things to do. I did give her all her toys and her soft bed. She was a terror of a terrier pup but her chewing preference was for plastic and any paper she could get her mouth on.

If I were to get a puppy play pen I would go for one like kimp5 posted.

Crating a pup or using an xpen are not cruel , actually the opposite. They feel more secure when left alone in a smaller area then in a big area. If you do end up putting your baby in the bathroom, Please ALWAYS be sure to close the toilet lid as some members here have lost pups to drowning in the toilet. And, Welcome to YT !

*UPDATE* Thanks for the advice! I bought a playpen yesterday, it's a very pretty baby blue pen! soo cute! It also changes size and shape, and I can connect his little crate to it making it even bigger. My friend said it was bigger than Busch Gardens and made fun of me, "It's a puppy, not a baby!"

(but thats another story lol).

Anyway, I put the playpen in the living room, next to the window so he can have lots of light, and a nice view, and I also got a little radio.

My question now is what should I do about covering the floor inside the playpen? the playpen doesn't have a floor and it's on the carpet.

I thought about putting down a layer of plastic bags, then cardboard, the. Newspapers, and then his potty pads ... Any better ideas? Or should I get an area rug?

I know that several others here on YT have purchased pieces of linoleum to put under their playpens. You can usually find them in department stores or home centers. If you have a flooring store near you they may have some left over pieces that you can buy at a good discount price.
Be very careful about putting plastic under there as a pup left alone will dig and easily get through cardboard or plastic.

Play pen I bought a pretty big one that works Miracles. I had a puppy room and there was no control with the potty. Besides the playpen although the space is smaller they can see the while house and they feel free, don't become as anxious.

I agree. I was thinking about the bathroom but there's no window, no natural light, the bathroom is inside a room so he has no view of the house, completely isolated .... Thanks to this forum I decided against it and went with the playpen

now he's in the living room with a pool view
