| Ticks? My yorkie keeps coming back from ticks, all the other ticks never get any and we walk them in the same area, is there any medicine recommended since yorkies are so small, I don't want her to get sick from the medicine |

| I use K-9 Advantix! Been using it on Peanut for 6 years, never had a flea, tick or mosquito near him!

| My Teddy is a tick magnet too. He picks them up and his brother doesn't. We use Frontline Plus, and I check the boys thoroughly after each walk.

| My vet prescribed Revolution, which can be used on puppies, but we don't get many ticks where I live, so I don't know how well it would work where there are larger tick populations... Revolution is by prescription only. Here is the info on what it controls: Revolution kills adult fleas and prevents flea eggs from hatching for one month and is indicated for the prevention and control of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides felis), prevention of heartworm disease caused by Dirofilaria immitis, and the treatment and control of ear mite (Otodectes cynotis) infestations. Revolution also is indicated for the treatment and control of sarcoptic mange (Sarcoptes scabiei) and for the control of tick infestations due to (Dermacentor variabilis). YT 2000 Club Member | I used revolution last year because we were going camping in the forest type area. I never had a problem with a reaction to that drug. I hope you find the right one because ticks are so awful. I even bought tick tweezers to pull those buggers off if we get one. |

| Advantix II works great for mine. Have not seen one tick or flea since using it.

YT 2000 Club Member | Read the adverse reactions to K9advantix and Frontline and you will not want to use these meds. I don't know what to use. No matter what we use we take a chance putting these chemicals on our Yorkies! |

| yes you take a chance putting the chemicals on...unfortunately the natural remedies dont really work. i use revolution also which is great for the fleas but not the ticks and keylo is getting them not lola or cedric. so i am going to spray the natural oils that repel ticks on her before we walk to see if that helps. BLEND TO COMBAT TICKS Check your home and pet for ticks - look in his bed, window coverings, walls, etc. Burn the ticks you find to prevent them from coming back. Prepare the following blend by pouring the essential oils into a 10-ml bottle and adding organic vegetable oil to fill. · 10 drops Tea Tree · 10 drops Lavender Apply 1 drop of Lavender and 1 drop of Tea Tree undiluted essential oils before extracting ticks from your pet. This will disinfect the inflamed area. It may sting a little bit (as alcohol would) but it works great!
