| Can she go outside on a leash Hi guys, Darla has had all her shots except her last round. That comes in 3 wks( + addt'l 2wks, she can interact with other dogs). But can I take her out into my front yard? I live in the country. The vet said i could start her on puppy classes if i wanted. She wont interact with other animals but she's anxious to go out? Is it safe? Parvo is high in our county. I'm wondering if it will help with the potty training since she's now been able to climb over 3ft boxes, xpen, and I cannot keep her in her crate for 8 hrs, yes i got a top for the xpen, but guess what. She's figured out how to get underneath it!! She's driving me insane! LOL She also likes digging on my couches in my lap on the carpet. but she doesnt want a blanket?? What am i missing? The interaction of being outside?` |

| I took mine out after initial shots. I would keep her out of dog parks or anywhere where there is the potential for infectious diseases. I think socialization is very important so I balanced this against the full vaccine set. It paid off for me, all my dogs are very social and gregarious and friendly.

| The fresh air will probably do her good. Mine's explored outside before her 1st shots. She has always been happy and healthy. At that age exploring the grass, flowers, rain, wind etc is a great treat for them. |

| We've always taken dogs out right when they come home at 8-9 weeks. In our own yard. No problems. We also live somewhat in the "country" though but even when we lived in a nice neighborhood. I think she will be fine. Just avoid pet stores and dog parks.

| My little Papillon is an escape artist too. I tried a couple of pens and she figured a way out. THIS works Purchase the Iris 8-Panel Pet Pen at Walmart.com. Save money. Live better. You can also get extra panels. They fit together with rods and you can change the size and shape easily. You can also use two panels to block off doors/halls. It is easy to move around but too heavy for them to get under. Works great outside too. You can screw the locks closed, good thing because mine learned to flip them. Shop around for the best prices but make sure you are looking at this one that is 34" high. They do make a shorter one.
