Keep Jackson in your thoughts tomorrow Dental cleaning :( Can't believe I slacked and let them get bad... well, to normal people standards, they're not "bad", but to me, I know it's best to get them professionally cleaned for a new fresh start. My dad thinks I'm nuts. I'm getting OraVet applied on while he's under, and getting his nails clipped. I'm feeling REALLY guilty tho... I just HATE dropping him off, it breaks my heart, he's so scared. Pre-op bloodwork was done 2 weeks ago and came back perfect. But ugh. Cannot wait for tomorrow to be over. I thought about canceling so many times over the last 2 weeks lol. Then he's really going to hate me because I have the mobile groomer coming Wednesday - didn't realize I scheduled them so close. So I am going to try and make it a fun week for him otherwise with lots of park trips to make up for it! LOL... |
It is not ever fun to drop them off and leave. You must wonder what they think. But he will have a pretty smile and a new dew all in the same week. Keeping you both in my prayers and keep yourself busy tomorrow. |
Awwe! Sending good thoughts and prayers for his dental! Just wait till you pick him up and get those fresh smelling kisses!! |
Good thoughts for you and Jackson tomorrow. |
I'm sure he will do great! |
Keeping Jackson in my prayers.... and hope he can forgive you for doing all this in the same week...lol. |
Keeping Jackson in my prayers. Looking forward to hearing he is home with his pearly white teeth. Wish I fast forward the day for you. Keep busy to make it go faster. :) |
ahhhh the poor little guy, don't beat yourself up, just LOL think about the great breath he will come home with:D:D Prayers for Jackson:thumbup: |
Keeping him in my prayers |
I will keep Jackson in my thoughts... I know how hard it is to leave them :( |
Jackson will do well, I can feel it! :) I gotta schedule Uni soon too. Her breath is kicking! I've been really bad about brushing her teeth, and even using the spray. She's got a bit of yellowing going on. I think this summer will be the time to get it done. Never had it done on her yet, she's 6 already. |
Good vibes for a great outcome tomorrow for Jackson (one of my favorite YTers!) I thought for sure Jack would need a dental when I took him in a few weeks ago, but the vet said even though he's got some plaque and tarter build-up it was not bad enough to put him under yet. He said he would check him again in 6 months - I have been very vigilant since then with brushing his teeth nightly and using Tropiclean Fresh Breath about three to four times a week. His breath is much better than it was three weeks ago, so I am hoping this will help bring his tarter back under control. |
He will do great :) |
Wishing Jackson all the best. I was thinking about you and Jackson recently, and remembering a thread a long time ago where you were discussing different canine dental cleaning products, the gel stuff and I think also the powder. Did you ever try that Proden Plaque Off? I am also probably going to need dental cleaning on my 2 dogs that are almost 5, and thinking about what I can do maintenance wise after they get a fresh start. |
I certainly will be keeping Jackson and you in my thoughts tomorrow and add him to my prayers. He's a healthy guy so he should come through this very well. Let us know as soon as he's done and awake, please. Try to be strong for him when dropping him off. I'm sure once he gets into the back with the cages of other dogs, he's probably very interested in watching all that goes on and probably not nearly as afraid then. And before long, he's getting the nice, relaxing medicine and then wakes up all done but still very relaxed. And then his mommie there and he goes home where he naps the rest of the day and she pampers him the rest of the week. |
P. S. I think your current avatar pix are the best yet! I tell you that dog belongs on TV or doing advertising - he's the picture of health and happiness. |
:) All the very, very best wishes Brit and Jackson....I truly hope the day whizzes past for you :) A big hug from Harry + I x |

He already had a dental in 2011 when he went under for his other tooth issue. So he's on his 2nd. It probably could've waited until summer but I just wanted to get it over with (I'm paying with my tax returns too). Plaque build up on canines was yellowing and it was mainly all the front teeth. Back looked good to me... But I think I feel so guilty because its not like his teeth are SUPER bad but they're bad enough to me ha, and breath was getting stinky. I'm rambling. I just dropped him off and I feel SO guilty ugh:( he was shaking when they carried him off. I told them to call me ASAP- lol, I will pick him up as soon as I can. |

But I think the plaque off stuff didnt really do anything. Ill probably just use OraVet (vet is applying while he's under), and then using kit they send home. Also HealthyMouth. And cet toothpaste. |

I really hope so. I asked if they knew the order they go in for surgeries, they said they usually do spays/neuters first. I told them he is very nervous in a cage and that kind of environment. I just hope he does ok. |
I am praying all goes well and he gets to come home soon. Please keep us posted and let us know how he does. Stay busy mom! |
Good Luck Jackson and Brit. Dental cleanings are a stressful necessary. I cannot believe Jackson (and Sophie Kate) will be 5 this year- where did the time go. |
best wishes for a safe procedure jackson! |
Thinking of Jackson today. |
Sending good thoughts Jackson's way. Hope the day goes quickly so you have him back home safe and sound soon. |
Sending out good thoughts, vibes and prayers for Jackson on his Dental. |
Thanks all! Jackson came out of anesthesia good! I can pick him up at 12:30. They did say he had gingivitis and stuff and his gums bled a lot. So she said it was good I did now as a preventative measure before it got worse. But they werent terrible. no teeth needed pulled or anything. |
Yay! Great news! |
