Oh my! Yes you are so close! I am getting her from Craig's Kennels in Ponchautoula LA. They have been AKC visited and got very high praises. It's a husband and wife who both take care of he puppies and are sooo sweet.

Have you visited and checked them out your self? Good breeders know small breed dogs need to stay with there moms until 12 weeks or they will probably have potty training issues, bitting issues, and socialization problems. I worry that it sounds like they are all 100% kept in out buildings so I would worry about human socialization which is very important in my opinion. Just because they where visited by the AKC doesn't mean there a great breeder.

A family friend got their yorkie from them and went to their home many times and we are going to their home ourselves on Friday. Them and their family play with the puppies often. She dies not let them go outside because they haven't had all vaccinations yet and she's very cautious of parvovirus . I will not be letting her on the ground outside either until all vaccinations are done. I had never heard of the 12 week thing until I joined this site. I spoke to 6 different breeders when I started looking for a yorkie about 5 months ago 2 of which were show breeders and they all said the puppies went home at 8-10 weeks depending on their progress with eating such. I have learned from here though about hypoglycemic episodes in them have loaded up on nutrical

I think I would check out there out building more then there house sense that is where the dogs spend the majority or there time. The Yorkshire Terrier Club of America which is what good breeders follow because they know what is best for Yorkies say 12 weeks. It's hard to find good breeders and there are even show breeders that are not good breeders so it is very possible you talked to bad breeders. Most show breeders also like to keep there puppies older then that to know if they are going to have potential to show. I just wanted to warn you because my Yorkie came from a bad breeder and I have had to watch her suffer from things she would not have had to if her breeder was good. There are just so many things that could go wrong with bad breeding and most bad breeders don't want to keep the pups until 12 weeks because it will cost them more money and time so they want to get them out as soon as possible. Normally if they skip one step they skip more like not doing health and genetic testing, making sure there dogs don't have LP, making sure there not breeding females under 5 pounds, and other stuff.
