This morning, I took Maya's blanket out of her crate to check if it needed washing. We played with it together for a while and I left it on the floor for her to 'dig' in it and fuss around. When I came back to put the blanket back in her crate there was a generous sized puddle of pee in her plastic crate - what is with that?!

Did you let her out? First thing in the morning you should let her out to go potty or take her to her pee pad

oh, yes! We had already been out several times! I wonder if female dogs feel a need to mark their territory...? Sometimes this happens as well in my piano studio AFTER the students have gone. She will pee while I am watching!!!

Yes females can mark is she spayed. How old is she could she be going into heat

Yes but maybe she is going into heat and is doing out of ordinary things. Is her vulva area swollen

Also if it keeps up you should have her checked for a UTI. Anytime there is a behavior change with peeing they should be checked for a UTI because it is very easy for them to get one

I agree - if she continues to do out of the ordinary things with her peeing, take her to check for a UTI.

With that said, one time...months ago, just out of the blue (and only once), Mandie peed right on MY bed. Still don't know what that was about.
