Lexie's a minimal barker, thankfully! She barks at the doorbell & when someone enters the house. She barks when we're in the car & someone approaches. She barks when we arrive at our destination out of excitement. The worst is she barks at my husband whenever he comes in the room. That's for a different reason! :p |
I have a barkaholic too! |
Jasmin is not a barker. I feel lucky. |
I used to..for about the first year.... then one day she saw her reflection in the glass-front of my electric fireplace and went nuts barking at herself like a crazy dog. Since then, ANY dog on tv (even an animated one for a local carpet company!). Then, squirrels, birds, leaves blowing...anything she could see moving outside....the neighbor mowing his lawn, getting his mail, pulling in his driveway. She is superior to any home alarm system I've ever owned at any house I've ever lived in! ....I really should contact my insurance agent and see if I can get an extra home security discount for having her. :p |

Callie doesn't bark much at all I was shocked when we first moved in back in October because all of a sudden she was barking at the cat next door. Well after a little while that stopped and she is back to normal. She only does one woof if she wants up in the morning or if someone forgot to open her doggy door it cracks us up. |
Chloe is pretty quiet (thankfully) Before Chloe I had Georgie (rest her sweet soul) and I thought it was cute when she barked as a pup. Wasnt cute for long as she barked at EVERYTHING lol. So when Chloe came home I stopped her everytime she barked. Not sure if it was the training or just her personality which is really peppy but she knd of talks when she is excited and makes the funniest noises. The only time Chloe barks is when daddy gets home and then all bets are off lol |

Joeys not much of a barker, unless he hears something..then he doesnt stop LOL |
Titus hardly ever barks. The only time he does is when he plays with other pets (play bark) and when I leave him in his crate to go to work (separation anxiety) other than that hes pretty quiet. |
Gracie does not bark when someone comes to the door or if she hears something. She only barks when she is playing and her idea of playing is fighting with her toys or having some sport with her favorite cat. She and the cat will wrestle around and that gets her really going. She will bark and dance around the cat who just lays there and wraps her arms around Gracie when she gets close enough. If she is playing with a toy she will bark and growl at it and then shake the daylights out of it. She also barks when she wants something. A guard dog she is not. She is sure every visitor has come just to see her. |
When I got Ralphie, who's a year older than Joey, he wasn't much of a barker. After living here for over a year, Ralphie is just as big of a barker as Joey, if not more so. Our house overlooks a park, and they think the park is their back yard. From the living room window and the balcony they can see everyone in the park. My grand dogs who never bark at their home, love to come and visit and lie on the baloney and watch out over our yard and bark. So just because your dog doesn’t bark at your home, doesn’t mean he’s not a barker. By the way Teresa’s, thread on barking helped us better than anything I’ve ever tried. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...h-barking.html They still bark, but I can get them to settle down. |
Charlie never barked for his first 2 years... It was divine!! Now that he has found his voice he's making up for the 2 quiet years!:-( I have a coke can with pennies in it to shake and a squirt bottle with water and nothing is helping! I need a dog trainer because it's terrible and he gets my other dog ( English Springer) going and it's too much!! I can't answer the phone or the door...who knew a 4 lb dog could cause such commotion??!! |
My Ellie doesn't bark much either only when we play and she chases us :). She doesn't bark when someone comes to the door, she dances around and belly crawls haha. Hoping this doesn't change since she's only 14 weeks old. |
Reign does not bark much either and he is reluctant to bark at me. He does bark at people who pass him and do not acknowledge him  I don't know what to do about that. Usually they turn around and acknowledge him and then he is quiet. |
