| Taking Mitsi on Vacation with Us, Tips and advice please!! Hi everyone, We are heading about 8 hours away to My mother in laws beach house. and Since Mitsi has a REALLY hard time being left with anyone but Myself, My Husband and My Father and Were all going on this trip, I have no one to leave Her with. Shes 3 years old but I dont want to leave Her at a bording place because She will panic. We had to leave Her once for just 1 day and She got so scared She started puking and gave Herself a stomach upset. So I figured it would just be best to bring Her along. We are going to be staying in a House and theres plenty of places to walk Her since its in a neighborhood. I think this will be best but if anyone has any suggestions Id Love to hear them. She gets a little nervous in new places and Our vet has perscribed Us Acepromazine tablets to help but I dont want to give them to Her unless I just have to. So any tips and advice anyone has I would Love to hear it. Thanks so much, Woofs From Mitsi!! |

By making sure she can't run out, it will be less stressful for you and others going in & out! I don't know if you remember the story of the little Yorkie that got out of a hotel room while on vacation in Orlando..... it ended well, but it could have very well been a very sad story..... Also, make sure that her collar ID contains your cellular number, not your home number!!!

YT 2000 Club Member | We take ours on vacation when we go to a resort for a week and when camping. I agree an xpen would be awesome to bring along. Also bring travel dishes for food and water, a jacket for cool nights, nutra-cal, leash and harness w/tags and anything that would lend comfort for her like her favorite toys, treats and her bed! I actually pack a suitcase just for my pups. I love taking ours on vacation with us and would not have it any other way!

| If she drinks tap water at home or a particular bottled water, take some with you. Changing water can cause tummy upsets just like changing food can. |

| Ours are on vacation with us right now, and they do great. I would definitely suggest that you bring 'familiar' things for her... bedding, blankets, kennel, and whatever else she uses. I think she will be a lot happier going with you... My two love going places. They just want to be with us.

| Thankfully after the first night it will just be Us 3 in the House, no Housekeepers or anything. I'm trying to make it as least stressful as I can, I've packed Her a mini suitcase with all Her favorite things, including the bottled water She drinks. Yeah Im hoping She will be happier with Us than staying in a strange House with someone Shes not around much. I think I'm making the right choice bringing Her with. I know Il feel better because Il be with Her and not worried the entire trip that Shes terrified. Thanks everyone for the support ( : |

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | She does have a micro chip? If not make sure you get that done. Make sure she has all her tags. In a folder put her medical records and a recent picture of her just in case. I think everyone hit the things you need. Have a great time on vacation.

| Please make sure her tag has your cell phone number on it. That was a tip I got her on Yorkie Talk and did this immediately. If for some reason your baby gets out while you are on vacation you want a way to be contacted if she is found. Also please if you don't have her microchipped get her chipped before you go.

| Mine take road trips with us every year. I take all of their comforts of home, except for the king size bed they sleep in every night. I leave their harness on them most of the time so that others won't put the leash on their collar. Their collar has a tag with their name and my cell number. Buster isn't a good traveler, he has to be sedated and sometimes that doesn't work (mainly because I'm afraid I'll give him too much). I take the food & water dishes they use at home, shampoo, towels, food, treats, toys...I think I take more of their stuff than I do mine, but they have a fun trip.
