My yorkie does not walk much

When I go out with my lilyy, we live in an apartment so as soon as she goes out she pees and then 5 steps after she pees or poops again, and then refuses to walk the rest, she pulls me to go home. What should I do with her ?

Welcome to YT. It took a while and lots of encouragement to get Alfie to like walks, she could be just nervous of new noises, smells traffic and other people. Use treats to move her along a little further each time.
Now Alfie loves his walks, especially when he knows he is going to the park for ball time.

4 months old, she walks like for 4 mins then pulls the leash to go home or go near the trash can. I got her a week ago, she used to walk more 3 days ago but she stopped.

My Piccolo used to do that too. So, I started picking her up and walking to a certain point, then putting her down and letting her walk home. My neighbors said I was going for a "carry," which I thought was amusing. It worked, though, and Piccolo could not wait to get back home and she walked the whole way. Now she is 8 years old and loves to go for walks.

Just be patient with her. Columbo was terrified to go on walks when I first got him. We had to work up to it. Columbo had never been outside before he came home at 4 mos. old. He was scared of grass! It took awhile to get used to the yard. After a few weeks, we worked up to the street, then increased our distance gradually for walks. It was a slow process. Remember, it's a big scary world out there when you are a tiny little dog. Walks are Columbo's favorite thing now. Your pup is still really young and hasn't lived with you very long, so she is still getting used to her surroundings. Everything has changed for her and your apartment feels safe. As she grows and gains more confidence in a few months, she will probably start to be more interested in going on walks.

Check to see if her feet are sore or tender. Try walking her on soft surfaces. And I agree with the other members, she may just be a little afraid.

My trainer told me to think of it this way. You go from living in a small apartment to living in the middle of giant stadium. Thats how outside feels to her. It takes a while. Jess used to shake like mad, within a week she was pulling me!

I agree with everyone above, be patient. Max would not go more than 5 steps down the driveway for the first few days. Then we were off and walking a mile each morning.

I see you are in Kuwait. Are the surfaces you are walking on hot? Try putting your hand palm on the sidewalk/street pavement to test.

You also might try to tether her when you are inside. Use her harness and leash attached to you and she will have to move with you through out your apartment. This has helped our Princess Sophie to not be afraid of her leash and when we go outside, I always have treats in my pockets as we are training her to stop and sit at the end of a block. It's working very well. Don't know if this will help so good luck. It will happen!!

Lots of good advice and options here... as usual

Lots of Pups equate the home place to feelings of security, and not all feel comfortable in getting very far from their "den". Slowly increasing distances, and carrying them a bit farther each time to extend the outings, as stated, is a "tricky" way to condition them physically and mentally to being away for a while.

I'm a proud new owner and newbie to this site. I think youe should the above advice given sounds good. Be patient and keep at it, don't give up. Praise her and perhaps give her treats. Also, try bringing toys outdoors (tennis ball, or chew toy) run around. I hope everything works out for you soon.

I agree with everyone. Give it time. Your baby is 4 months and new home. Bentley didn't like outside first either. I started with an excited high voice asking if he wants to walkies. Now when I ask he's excited and ready to go. Even now he has his moments. But don't we all no matter the age or 4 legs or 2.
