I agree with everyone above, be patient. Max would not go more than 5 steps down the driveway for the first few days. Then we were off and walking a mile each morning.
I see you are in Kuwait. Are the surfaces you are walking on hot? Try putting your hand palm on the sidewalk/street pavement to test.
