| Feel like a bad yorkie mommy Bentley has a kitty sister who has been run of the home long before Bentley was ever born. I've been working with expanding Bentley's world. One no no area is the main bathroom that the cat's litterbox is in. (He love the eat the Breeze litter pellets if he can get a hold of one. I have checked with Fresh Step and they are non-toxic. Non clumping kind so I don't have to worry about blockage or toxic effect but still he does not need to eat them.) Until this weekend I have kept the door closed and only opened it periodically for the cat to go in during the day, leave it open at night (while Bentley is in my bed) and during the day (while Bentley is with the grand-humans for doggie daycare). This past weekend I decided to try to start to desensitize Bentley to the bathroom. Thought is block it to Bentley while still letting Nutter have access to the bathroom instead of waiting for me to open the door. (Yes, my cat's name is Nutter, short for Fluffy McNutter lol.) Here's where the bad part comes in. I blocked it with a storage container and a small board. I know bad choice but it was a spur of the moment decision. Bentley was fine until last night. I was in the kitchen and Bentley decided to obviously either peek over or try to pull down the board. I hear him screaming and running down the hall. He go into the living room and lays down and proceeds to lick his one back foot. I rush to him and am in panic mode. Touched and moved his leg no apparent distress from palpation or gentle movement. Then I get him to stand up and he start limping bad on it. I'm really upset at this point. Look back the hall and see the board laying down. Put 2 and 2 together and he obviously pull the board down on his foot. Really upset with myself at this point, thinking the worst he's broke his leg. Making arrangements in my mind of when I can get him to the vet. (No 24 hour coverage in my area.) Happy ending here. After settling down with him for a few minutes petting him and giving him a cookie, he hops up on all four feet and proceeds to run the cat down. No limp at all. THANK GOD!! So needless to say I am in the process of looking for a good door gate that the cat can jump over but Bentley not pull down or jump over. Feel horrible, but lesson learned and thank God Bentley is tiny but built like a Tonka Truck.

| We have all used improvised baracades with our littles. Don't feel like a bad Yorkie mommy. You are the opposite. You were trying to protect him from being where he shouldn't be.

| Aw poor guy, probably just scared him more than anything. I just buy the baby gates… you can find them anywhere.. Target/Walmart . Have you ever thought of buying a litter box that in enclosed? So Mr. Bentley can’t get in there and get to the nuggets?

| So glad he is ok Georgie has done the same thing a couple of times. One time he was chasing a squirrel (who was bigger then him lol) and he starting yelping and limping. I freaked out and was so upset and 5 minutes later he was running again!

| Happy to hear your pup is ok. Scary when things like that happen. Right now we are giving Princess Sophie some free time with us in the den in the evening. We have one doorway to block (took the door off years ago). DH found the plastic cover to a large plastic tub that squeezes into the doorway and Hansel or Princess Sophie can't move it. I have seen Sophie throw herself bodily against it but it would have to be pulled down for her to get through and she's not tall enough to do that. LOL It's just a temporary fix but it works for the time being!
