| ![]() I have multiples. What I will say is that if there is a squabble in my home it is always either two females or two males. I never have any issues at all with opposites.

YT 1000 Club Member | ![]() This is very true for me as well... I really didn't understand how good it is for one, to have the opposite (sex) companion. Since I realized that, I have always made any addition to My "Pack", like this... Same Breed, Opposite Sex, The new Dog about 2 years younger than the Resident. Note: Age separation will assist in promoting/maintaining the Resident's status within your household, and be a reasonable "space", in later years, when the oldest approaches the Bridge... Also, if/when you do add, be sure to give a LOT of attention to the resident animal, overdo it in fact. Many resident animals really suffer psychologically when they think they are being replaced in your heart, with another.

YT 500 Club Member | ![]() I have a now 7 year old boy And one year old girl. 10 weeks when I got her. My boy hated her at first, figured she wasn't visiting and not leaving. So it took about a month for him to get use to her and now they're always together. Although for her tiny size compared to him, she's bossy and fiesty. Basically the boss! Lol

| ![]() Although I prefer females I think a male & female make the happiest pair. I had to move one of my girls, Bella, upstairs because she started fighting with Sophie seriously. My daughter lives upstairs and Bella gets along great with Bailey, her male even though he picks at her.

| ![]() I have a male and female that are a month apart. My only problem is fighting over toys and jealous of me. The female usually starts it. They play together but sure do get into some serious fighting! I have to pull them apart. I hate they do that. The female is smaller but she sure takes over him! |
