This is what we do as well. On the off chance Kaji gets stuck on something, the breakaway will make sure he's safe. On the off chance he gets out, he's got tags on. Kaji wears his 24/7. He sleeps with it on, and so far it hasn't fallen off.

I got Galen cat collars but also got him a regular buckle collar when we go outside. I bought the Rubit ring so I can change his tags quickly. I don't leave the collar loose because he like to chew it and had gotten the collar caught in his mouth. Thanks to the cat collar easy off.

I used to swear by cat breakaway collars, but I got a bad/cheap one once and her collar kept falling off. I mean it probably happened about 4 times until I decided I needed to get a new one. It was the cat collar from Walmart. I now use regular collars and have them on tight enough where it would be hard for anything to get stuck in there. I can get three fingers under the collar.

Cat break away work, but might need to be replaced more often if dogs like to play. Mine keep breaking
