And I do know that when he tries to chew on my fingers there is a big gap in teeth on both sides. Ears aside, I know he's got to be uncomfortable, I hope his teeth come in soon.

Senior Yorkie Talker | My Baby Banana Split had one lazy ear too. It was up but the tip flopped over. The vet told me to tape them both up so I watch a video on Yorkie ear taping and did it. We left the tape on for two days and then took it of for 24 hrs and then re- taped them for four more days. She still has them taped up now. Take a look at the albums in my profile there is several pictures there. I do have to say that after the first two days and taking the tape off for 24 hrs her ears were much perkier. Lets see what this next time brings in a few more days. I will be sure to post new pics of her ears when the tape is off.

Senior Yorkie Talker | One more thing. I used paper surgical tape. So the skin on her ears could still breath. And also the surgical tape works good for their sensitive little ear skin just incase the are allergic to the glue on the tape. I also trimmed 3/4 of the hair off her ears with the clippers. They say the hair weighs down the ear.

| New update. I sent the breeder and update picture of Bentley the other day. I love to keep her up to date on how he's doing. One of her responses was you know you can tape that ear up if you want. So last night I finally gave it a go again. This time I just taped up the lazy ear instead of trying to do both. Will take it off tomorrow evening and see how things are doing. He did good having it taped up and does not seem to pay it any mind. Hoping this works. With that other ear taped up his face looks so much brighter.

| Most yorkies ears will stand by themselves but I do believe some need assistance in order to do so. When I first brought Scampers home, I went through the same thing you did. One ear would be up, then down or both ears down. I can honestly tell you that if I had not taped his ears, they probably wouldn't be standing today. Oh and I've found it is much easier to tape them individually, it doesn't bother them as much so they are more likely to keep it in and you still get the desired results from it. And shaving the hair on the ears does make a difference. For some, hair weighs down the ears especially if it is thick. My girls have long hair on their ears but they have baby fine hair so of course the hair doesn't weight their ears down. However, to this day I have to keep the top 1/4 of Scamp's ear shaved otherwise the hair starts getting heavy and his ears start drooping. He has floppy ears if I don't cut the hair on his ears but as soon as I do they stand right up. So yes, the hair does make a difference. If you really want his ears to stand up, shave them and tape them. It will work. If you don't care then just leave his ears as is. Either way he is a real cutie!!
