| considering a new baby Hi everyone! We are considering a new addition to our family. We have had Yorkies since we were in our 20's...and are now 63....so, most of our lives. Our little guy, Oscar, left us in December 2010...and I could just not bring myself to risking that heartbreak again. Time helps, so we are considering adding a new fur baby. We LOVE Yorkies and know to stay away from TINIES, TEACUPS, PARTICOLOR, etc...we know what the standard says. However doing some online research I found the Biewers Yorkies. I am confused..I know this is supposed to be a "new" breed...and want to make sure this is not what is considered the Particolor Yorkie....how will I know the difference between a legitimate Briewer and a Particolor Yorkshire? thanks for any input... |

| There is no difference in looks. A biewer will have a german ancestory and will not be able to be registered AKC they are registered by German clubs. Partis can be registered AKC but cant be shown.

| Thank you, since we are looking for a pet "showing" won't be a factor. Should I have a preference for one over the other...? My gut tells me to still be true to the standard... |

| Ultimately its up to you but if you want to stay true to the standard I would go with a biewer. I have no misgivings personally with the parti but there is a little bit of stigma and controversy with them since they are off colored and there color doesn't meet the standard. The biewer has there own clubs and just kinda do their own thing

| I am so sorry for your loss. It is heartbreaking to lose a baby. I am glad you have decided to consider refilling your home with furry kisses. I am sure you will make the right decision for you. To me they are all beautiful babies. I'd take any of them. Welcome, and do post pix when you get your new little one. I also sent you a PM...I hope that was okay. I wanted to say Hi and welcome you but was a bit rushed at the time. {{{Hugs}}}

| It is ultimately up to you. I am personally a fan of the traditional colors
