| About 10-14 months for us. For two major reasons: 1. He had FHO surgeries and couldn't sleep with us for a while (our bed's high up off the ground, too) and 2. I was paranoid when he was smaller - was afraid my BF would roll over and smash P-Nut - this led to many sleepless nights for me when we first tried it, so we kept him in his exercise pen at night till he got bigger. Once he got bigger and was recovered from surgery, he started sleeping with us every night and he loves it. We've decided to replace the queen sized bed with a king so there's more room for "all" of us and a potential new pup (someday). |

| Donating YT 500 Club Member | Alfie sleeps in his own huge (well huge to him) kitchen and living room, where he has 3 beds, 2 beds in the living room, one on the floor and one on the couch and another under the radiator in the kitchen. He has no problem at all with this, never whimpers or barks and can get to his puppy pads in hall and kitchen without a sound. |

| Donating YT 10K Club Member | The first puppy I was determined not to give in...no one slept for an entire week. I am old...I need sleep. The ones that I purchased after immediately went in our beds. The pups I hold back from a litter...are allowed bed privileges after their litter mates have gone to new homes.

| ZoE was 6 weeks & 3 days old the first night she slept with me, and she's been there ever since. She's never peed or pooped on my bed, but she has puked a couple of times.

| Brutus has been in my bed since night 2. Only peed once, but has barfed several times - he has issues that have since been taken care of. I love waking up to him pawing my face and his kisses. I wouldn't have it any other way. The joke around the house is "where is Brutey"? He naps in his bed, which is king size and we do have steps for him. We also have steps for him to get onto my sons bed, which I move when DH snores to loud and I go into the spare bedroom.

I really appreciate all the insight from everyone. I want my baby in bed with me, hopefully I will get over the fear of not hearing him and him wetting my bed and take him to bed in when I go to sleep.

| He started sleeping with me about a year ago. My DH feels very strongly that our bed is not the place for Oscar. Buuuutttt....when I get home from work at 7am I let Oscar out of his crate to go potty then sneek him into bed with us! I only work on the weekends so DH is still asleep when Oscar and I come to bed HEHE! During the week Oscar gets to sleep in bed with me after DH goes to work. He likes to stay tucked behind my knees or up against my stomach unless I get restless then he lays on his blankey on the floor on my side of the bed. DH has caught him sleeping in the bed a few times but just shakes his head and gives me the stink eye!

| There were only a couple of times I let Titus play/cuddle with me in my bed but I don't want him to get used to it because 1) hes not potty trained 2) My bed is high off the ground. I want him to get used to sleeping in his crate but he cries and cries instead lol I'm not sure what to do |

| YorkieTalk Newbie! | When my Emily arrived she was already 5 months, & I had a cute Hello Kitty Doggy bed with blankets all ready for her. She was more than happy sleeping in her bed, & all of a sudden she was begging to get in bed with me ?? I came home from work & found my sister & Emily relaxing in bed watching TV !!! So after that there was not keep her out of the bed, but she will nap in her own bed. |

| Lahja (Finnish for gift) slept in my bed from the day I got her. Although she had her own bed the just jumped out of it and took over my bed and my lazyboy chair! Oh my goodness!!! But I love her so, I don't care!!! |

| Gracie has slept with me from the first night. I had started out putting her crate on the bed so she could see me but that did not work so I folded up a beach towel and let her lay next to me. I kept one arm around her so I could tell if she stirred. She slept all night except for once when she got up, went pee in the carrier, and came back and went to sleep on the towel. I have to say she was a dream to potty train and she was a good sleeper so it has never been a problem. After raising 5 kids it was really pretty easy. If your pup is not a good sleeper it may take longer than that. It also depends on how you potty train. When Gracie was about 6 months old I purchased some pet steps so she could get up and down by herself. |

I was determined to be very structured with him since everything I read has been yorkies can be very hard to train. Even if I am going to stay up the lights in my bedroom go out right after I put him into his kennel. First 2 nights he whimpered but only for 5 minutes. Only thing I would do it quietly sush him or say settle down. Did not actually talk to him or use his name. Just a quick something to let him know it was not alone. Since then sleepy or awake, if I say it's bedtime he settles right down. Best suggestion is if you are not comfortable with your baby sleeping with you yet is work on a routine that your pup can learn hey this means I settle down now. Playing him out till he's practically asleep on his feet doesn't hurt either. ![]() Good luck with Titus. It's so easy for them to pull at our heartstrings.

| Bentley got up at 4 to potty. I brought him to bed with me after. He was not a devilish like he was the previous night when I ended up putting him back in his kennel. He tugged at pillows and roamed a little around the be about 30 minutes and then he settled down. Below is what I woke up to at 7 am. ![]() Thanks everyone for your stories. You are all great this is such a friendly forum.
