I'm confused, it says, "Kasel Industries is recalling Boots & Barkley, BIXBI, Nature’s Deli, Colorado Naturals, Petco, and Best Bully Stick items. It sounds like you are right. I was under the impression BBS manufactured their own goods. I'm actively watching their Facebook page as they claim to be making an announcement shortly.

I think Brister was also trying to find out who made Best Bully Sticks, it was so hard to do a google on it, as you can imagine. Who manufactures "Best Bully Sticks"? What the name of the company that makes Best bully sticks? All I got was consumers opinions on the best bully sticks. Let us know what you learn, I know the company is a favorite here.

I know, I don't feed Joey any dog treats at all besides bully sticks, if he were a large dog I wouldn't be as concerned, it just seems like something that might make a large dog a little sick would kill a yorkie.

We wanted to post that some of the products that we carry, a very select few, were voluntarily recalled today by Kasel Industries of Colorado. They were our supplier for these products which are listed below from April -September of 2012 only. Please keep in mind that no products were actually positive for contamination and that this is being done voluntarily as a precautionary measure. Kasel does not and has never manufactured any of our core products including bully sticks. The customers and orders that were affected by potential issues are being contacted by email directly as it does not affect over 99% of our customer base. Please be sure that we are in contact with Kasel regarding this recall and are evaluating safety procedures related to products that they produced for us. Please also keep in mind that this is a voluntary recall only and that no positive test for any contamination of any kind has been confirmed for any of these products.

The products that are being voluntarily recalled are as follows:

USA made Chicken Jerky in 16 oz. bags only
Beef Knee Caps
Sliced Buffalo Hearts
Pork Jerky Strips
Pork Snouts
Lamb Hearts
Lamb Jerky
Turkey Jerky
Beef Lobster Tails

We cannot stress enough how much pet safety means to us and as such we are taking this issue seriously. All of the products were sold in their form of delivery and not mixed with any other products. Again, this only affects purchases made for the above products only. This also only affected those products potentially from April - September of 2012. We are glad that Kasel is being proactive in case there is an actual positive test and we will be keeping you all informed both on Facebook, through email, and on our blog. One of our core tenants as a company is complete transparency and we were notified of this at the same time as the general public and are responding as quickly as we are able.

Okay, so it sounds like Kasel has little to do with them and they only supplied them with products for a certain amount of time and none were Bully Sticks. I've got to say I'm impressed with their letter and how serious they are taking the situation. Let me know if there's another name for their company. A few years ago, I didn't think they sold their own brand of bully sticks, it was other manufacture's brands, they were just a distributor. Then they started selling their own name brand, but I wasn't sure if they actually made it or outsourced to other companies. It just seems weird that they would manufacture a brand and sell that along with other brands. Like the Merrick company doesn't sell other brands on their website, but a petstore as a distributor, might sell lots of different brands.
