Thank you, I'm taking all this advise to heart. Yazmin has been a happy, healthy pup until recently. It hurts me to know she's now suffering with anxiety.

Thank you Jeanie, I do believe after reading the post you provided that I've unknowingly not allowed her to be an independent dog. I will work on this though because you never know what the future will bring and I'd feel a lot more at ease knowing Yazmin's happy and a well adjusted dog.

I don't really have any other advice to add, Carla. I think you've gotten some very good tips on what to try and do. I love the idea of leaving a piece of your clothing with her. Also, some calming sprays.

I, too, think this is probably PTSD from when you had your stroke and were gone for a while. I will pray that you find the right answer for Yazmin and for you.

They have a bowl that records your voice... Chatterbox or something I'm not sure the name. Your clothes is a great idea. You could also just record yourself talking to her a bunch and have it randomly played while your gone. I hope that things get better for the both of you.

Thanks MandiesMom, I appreciate the prayers. I agree, I've gotten some wonderful advise that I will start putting into action tomorrow to help Yazmin be better prepared when I go back to work on Thursday. I thank God for YT and all the members, I don't know what I'd do without everyone.

Another thought about Yasmin. Consider substituting calming music for the TV being on. I use an ipod loaded with soft music that tends to lower heart, respiration, etc. It is porgrammed to continuously loop the songs. At first, play it at night time and another part of the day when you want her to nap or relax. After a while, your baby will associate turning on the music with a calm state. This is associated learning. The idea The first posts appeared on the Time Travel Institute forums on November 2, 2000, under the name TimeTravel_0. At the time the posts had nothing to do with future events and the name "John Titor" was not being used. Instead, the posts discussed time travel in general, the first one being the "six parts" description of what a time machine would need to have to work (see below) and responses to questions about how such a machine would work. Early messages tended to be short.is to provide the cue (music) and the dog immediately goes into the calm state/behaviors . You have taught him how to behave when you go away!

Don't have slightest clue as to hoe that time crap got in there. haha. Like I've said before, these little guys must be interstellar aliens. LOL. Anyone seen any 4 ft. flying saucers stuffed with cheweys lately?

Lol, I got lost there for a moment with the time travel but I agree we have little aliens on our hands and I got the gist of the message. I have a CD/iPod player in my kitchen and have a huge variety of music on the iPod. I'll go through it today and choose soothing music along with a few CD's to play while I'm gone. Thank you for the suggestion, I really appreciate all the great advice from everyone.
Yorkiedaze suggested Solo Harp music also. Yazmin's taking her morning nap so I have the Harp music playing now.

It's been a week now and I am very pleased to say Yazmin's separation anxiety has greatly improved!
Since last week I've made quite a few changes.

1. I put her covered cage in my kitchen with the door left opened. She still has her bed in the nook also.
2. I'm leaving a tee shirt I wore the night before in her cage.
3. Purchased the Comfort Zone Plug-In Diffuser
4. Leaving CD's on continuios play of Harp Solo music and downloaded the CD - Through A Dog's Ear:Calm your Canine Down Vol. 2.

I found Through A Dog's Ear:Vol. 1 and the Driving Edition today and downloaded them to. (She's begining to show signs of anxiety in the car also.)
I found out about the Through A Dog's Ear CD's by reading the thread Maximo provided that was start by megansmomma. The music is very comforting, I watched Yazmin yawn and then take a nap while listening to the first CD.
5. I purchased a Thundershirt for Yazi from Kristin, (Maximo) that was shipped and delivered very quickly I must say! Very cute too.
I put the shirt on her last Saturday before leaving for work and when I arrived home she was not crying, pouncing on the back door, or panting. That was a huge relief to see!
6. I've been putting the CD's on 1/2 before I leave and have not been going through the normal long "Good Bye" ritual that I started 2 years ago. Just a quick "Be a good girl".
7. Last but not least, I got a Interactive Treat Puzzle to greet her with when I come home.

Yazmin is still excited to see me and wants to be held when I get home, she'll jump around like a jumping bean til I pick her up and let her get in a few puppy kisses but I am working on making this greeting ritual a lot shorter by taking her outside to play our daily fetch sooner and then letting her have some treats from her new puzzle.

All these changes have really calmed Yazi down and has made my baby a lot happier. Thank you to everyone for all your advice and suggestions, it's made our lives so much easier.
