| Well if the hair never grows then that almost says it all. Time will tell as you said. The person you got it from knows for sure it's a yorkie?

| She looks like a Yorkie with long legs and big ears to me - kind of like my Jack... He has huge ears and is on the taller side. She is a cutie and it may be that she has had her hair cut before and its just growing in or its growing in slow - Jack's hair grows pretty slow. Either way, she's a cutie!

| Could it just be that the dog is on the larger side of the scale?

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | There's something called a red legged Yorkie, looks like a Yorkie, but it’s hair is more sparse and wirey and can’t grow a full coat. Old time breeders would keep a red legged Yorkie in their breeding program to keep the color in the future litters more brilliant. Sometimes the "blue" get too diluted and it looks like a silvery blue instead of preferred dark gun-metal blue, so if they had a "red legged” Yorkie, they could breed it and the offspring would have the darker blue, of course, sometimes offspring would be another red legged Yorkie. There are now better ways to reintroduce the darker blue, so most breeders don’t keep a red legged Yorkie in their breeding program, but they do pop up now and then.

| Looks to be a bit of a mix but what a darling mix. Beautiful little sweetie. Looks like she could be athletic besides just a little cutie.

| She looks like a flopp eared Yorkie to me. (Which I adore !) I think she looks like she has been shaved. Even if she is a mix, who cares she is a little doll baby. She does not look like a Red Legged Yorkie to me. My Rubin is a Red Legged. His Coat is Black and deep Rust-red. It has a glassy feel, not wiry and is very thick and perfectly straight , no wave anywhere. His coat only grows so long, then stops. His face is tiny, short nosed and his eyes are black rimmed, and a warm cinnamon brown. Rubin's parents were both show champions. But the breeder knew he was a Red Legged and would never grow a show coat. Check my album.
