YT 500 Club Member | Feel really bad Honey always wants to sit and sleep in my bed instead of her own. I feel so bad because I am trying to break her from sleeping in my bed. When i tell her she cant get in my bed to growls at me and just go get her cage. Am I doing the right thing? |

| My Tibbe sleeps with me, Jilly before him. All my dogs have slept with me, right in the bed. Dogs are pack animals and they like to sleep on or near others of their pack. I love sleeping with my sweet dog.

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | I'm no help here I'm afraid. I had originally planned for KS to sleep in her big girl bed. Let's just say she hasn't spent many nights in there. Lol.

| Why are you trying to break her from sleeping in your bed is my question..? If it's just because you don't think she should sleep there, I see no harm in it at all to let her sleep in your bed. Mine have always slept with me and I think I love it more than they do lol

| I don't mind mine sleeping in my bed with me. But if you really want her in her own bed/crate, maybe you can always have a special treat waiting for her in her own bed at bedtime. This way, she'll associate her own bed with an extra special treat.

| Its the right thing if you really dont want her to sleep with you but I would say to make sure its what you want so that you dont go back and forth confusing her, not everyone wants a furbaby in bed with them I couldnt sleep without Charlie but its not for everyone.

♥Love My 3 Furrbutts♥ Donating Member | Mine have never slept with me, afraid they would pee on my bed... All three sleep in a large crate (big enough for a lab) so they have each other for company...should add the crate is in my room near my bed so they know i'm there. I just tell them 'bedtime' and they go right in, no problem.

YT 500 Club Member | The reason I want to is because she has peed in my bed twice in the last week. When the doc gave her meds for allergies he told me it would make her pee a lot more because it would make her drink more water. Well I have been taking her outside almost every hour but I guess them two times she needed to go before the next hour came around. Idk I love the fact that she sleeps with me and likes to cuddle but my mom hates the fact that I let her sleep with me. Idk what to do I just dont want her to pee in my bed anymore lol. |

| OHHHH well you have a medical reason, that is a yorkie of a different color LOL. is it a medicine that she will be on forever? if so maybe something her body will get used to in time? other wise then she needs to be in her own crate/bed at least until she can learn to not to pee in the bed.

| I have 2 Yorkies and they both sleep with me. My female , GiGi, had bladder problems going back about 6 years ago. After she peed in my bed a couple of times I started making her sleep in the kitchen where if she peed it would not destroy anything. It made her more alert to the fact that she was peeing in the wrong place when she was doing it in my bed. That and the medication the Vet gave her to strengthen her bladder cleared up the problem. To this day she some times sleeps in her bed in my bedroom cause she has more room, lol. But even to this day if she has to pee in the middle of the night she goes all the way into the kitchen to her weewee pad to do it. Now I hope I did not just jinx myself, lol...she really has been so good for years. So Do Not be afraid to put your dog in her own room till her pee problem is cleared up...she will learn and survive. Good luck tina
