I wanted to post here because I have been blessed with having some really good friends here - too many to name... but want to post a big thank you to them and you all know who you are :) and to share something that really touched me this morning -

I live in a regular neighborhood - every so often I see this old man walking around with a trash bag....this morning...I was taking out my trash and this little spanish man was digging around in it looking for cans. I've seen him before and left cans out for him.... but this morning - it's COLD and Christmas time....

Oh wow - I felt SO bad for him that I ran in the house and got what cash I had (which was NOT much) and ran back outside - he was so embarrassed to be in the trash - and when I handed him the little bit of money - he actually got tears in his eyes.

THAT is how I feel when I've been blessed by some of the members of this site and I wanted to share this....That little old man who doesn't speak English kissed my hand and went on his way and I felt very good that even though WE are struggling - I could so something that small and feel so good.....

THIS IS WHAT CHRISTMAS IS ABOUT :) ....and to the yorkietalk members who made ME feel like that little old man ....Thank YOU....

Oh, Villette! I've got tears in my eyes. You know, to that man, you were his angel today. Bless you Villette. No matter what hardships we have, there is always someone worse off than us. You'll be rewarded someday for what the kindness that you showed. :)

Villette, that is such a touching, beautiful story. :o You must have really touched that man's heart, and made his Holiday season so much better. Thanks for reminding us all the true meaning of Christmas!

No...I'm not special but I sure wish I could do that all the time - I guess seeing him made me realize how lucky I am to have a roof over my head....so far we're not so bad off that I would have to collect cans - but lately - It sure seems like it is....and seeing that smile on that mans face just made it all come into perspective....

PLUS.... I really wanted another chance to say thank you to the members who pitched in to give the girls the wonderful gifts....Kimberly (txshopper) and the EAST COAST GANG :D Chelsea (Mandy) Pat & Rini....(love you ladies) and a special thanks to Brenda (minimim) ...Michelle(Waistful) ...I could go on and on.... but I just wanted to share that sweet old man this morning with you - He really had the BEST SMILE :)

AWW, that was so nice.. I have tears running down my face.... Villette, i know, doesnt it make you feel so good to do for others! I was standing in line at a store the other dqay and there was this really old cute couple who had bought some items and came up a dollar short. the stupid girl at the register was so rude and just stood there with her hand out looking at them........So I gave them the dollar. They were so happy and appreciative and were "God blessing me" all over the place. lol. I love it! :p

I'd make a TERRIBLE cash register person cause I'd be waving them off if I saw an old couple who didn't have the money - or it would be coming out of my pocket too - that's so sad - and that was so nice of you :)

God bless you, Villette. You are an angel to that man and to many other people and you don't even realize it. This thread brought tears to my eyes, and it truly reminds us to be grateful for what we have.

We count our blessings every day and when I count mine ... you're one of them!!! I love you, Villette!! ;)

Villette, what a nice story the kind of things you wanna hear about at Christmas time, that was so kind and thoughtful of you, but, that is so~ YOU, you are so helpful and caring,, everyone senses that immediately when they come here,, you are for sure our own angel. There are many far worse off then us, like this little man looking for cans.. :( I am a firm believer, What Good are Blessings if we do not pass some of this onto others. Paying it forward !!! :D :D As God intended all of us to behave. Thank you for helping this man. We need more Angels like you in our world today!!!!

Aw, Villette that is such a great story!

The other night I was driving home from my Mom's and I was stopped at a red light. There was a man begging for change with a cup so I rolled my window down & put some change in his cup. He said, "God Bless" and walked away. Then he stopped in his tracks and turned around. He knocked on my window, so I rolled it down, and he said - "Excuse me, can I pet your dog??". I had Biddy on my lap (I know - that's an issue for another thread!!), so I said - Sure. His face lit up like a Christmas Tree!! He was so happy. It's easy to forget all the little things you can do to make someone happy. Especially this time of year. He was happy with the change, but overjoyed to pet a cute little dog (well, Biddy is ESPECIALLY cute...)

Biddy's Mom, that is soooo sweet. It probably took him back to better times....
I would have done the same thing regardless of what anyone else would have to say about it. That is just so sweet.

Ah, I'm crying now.. that was such a good story. Yes It's not always about MONEY,,its the little things that matter and they can make such a difference.
