| Senior Yorkie Talker | Oh that's a shame, make sure you weigh the pups at least daily so you can pick up on if they are not putting weight on early. I'm sure they will do great. Enjoy, it goes over so quick hard work but so worth it.

| Senior Yorkie Talker | Hi the average a pup should put on is 10g a day some put on more, as for the bed thing don't know why she would be doing that, if you have concerns contact your vet they should be able to help and put your mind at rest. Not sure what you have Sophie and pups laying but I bought one of those large plastic beds and had one of those cage fleeces in had heard about puppies been lay on by having soft thick blankets and knew Molly would like an enclosed cage set up with roll bars, she was really hot and those beds give plenty space and the pups seemed safer not been lost under blankets. Really feel for you it's such a worrying time for both mammy and pups

My formula delivers 14-16calories per cc, and you must feed 1cc/oz of body weight. My formula: 8 oz Just Born with Colostrum puppy formula. (You are fortunate to have access to Royal Canin puppy milk formula....use that as it is better!) 1 raw egg yolk 4 oz unflavored Pedialyte 1 cup live cultured yogurt, not lo fat...you want the fat! 2 tablspoons Vi-Daylin pediatric vitamins 4 tblsp Karo syrup Mix all the above in a jar and store in fridge for 5 days. You can bottle feed the baby but it probably is not sucking enough and wearing itself out....Also, that increases your chances of that baby getting milk in its lungs, and then you have another issue the baby usually can not surmount.....PLEASE get the vet to show you how to tube feed! You need to feed that baby every two hours around the clock for 24-48 hours...then if he is gaining weight well and getting visably stronger, you can advance to every 3 hours for a couple of days, then every 4 hours for 4-5 days....then you can go to every 8 hours....This is around the clock, not just during the day...labor intensive and heartbreaking....you should see great results if you tube feed this baby.....if momma is taking care of the baby, she will clean baby up, pee and poop baby, and cuddle him. Baby need this interaction with momma, it is vital for the baby to have this in order to thrive. NEVER give cold formula....warm formula like you would for your enfant....test it on your wrist.....and of course, baby must be kept warm....88-90* ambient temperature.....good luck with your little baby....if you do as I have instructed, your chances of this baby surviving have improved by about 90%. | Yorkie Talker | Thank you all, they are putting on 10g a day so that puts my mind at rest. Sophie is in a large plastic bed with a blanket she is happy in there well she seems to be she not putting the puppies any where else like I have read so that's good,as for tube feeding I don't no how to do it,I have just brought a bottle just in case I have to step in but as he is putting on 10g per day I don't think I will need to but I will step in and feed any of them if I need to I wouldn't let the puppies down like that, any other info let me know thanks x |
