| Wow! That dog is so much tinier then my little GirBear... wow... it's so tiny, like the size of a 6 year old's hand. Puppy mills are disgusting though, bunch of weirdos, and landlords running them.

| I have gotten dogs from animal shelters. Not mill... just given up. My westie is just fine, except territorial and alpha.

| RE: so sad Hi: I had just read your post and I am familiar with Mini and her brave battle. She seems to be doing so much better now. I had sent in an application prior to her being ready for adoption but hoped that she would recover quickly and we could be considered for her new home. That was a few months ago and I kept checking back but never saw that she was ready for adoption until your post. On the post it said that she was ready and could be adopted to a person with one or two quiet dogs. We would be perfect for her. I was wondering if you were familiar with the process, since it did not show an adoption link on her post. I did email them to make sure that they still had our application on file, but noted that they would not be back till Jan 3rd. I am glad they are taking vacation time but do hope that they check their email and do in fact still have our application. Thanks so much for posting her story. It is a very sad story, and she is so adorable and sweet, and seems to be coming along nicely. Hopefully she will end up with a family ( like ours, or ours, LOL) and live the life that she deserves. By the way, your yorkie is quite beautiful too. I have seen so many sweet looking yorkies on the site. And what a wonderful site it is. Thank you for sharing Mini's story with us. |

We are a country that does NOT take care of our pets. Too many are killed just because someone was careless and had puppies or decided they just can't handle the responsibility - It's a BIG STATEMENT about impulse buying also when there are SO MANY dogs and cats put to sleep EVERY SINGLE DAY. Our country needs to WAKE UP and stop the killing | |

| I have been breeding it seems like forever but in reality for only 10 years or so. I NEVER CEASE TO BE AMAZED AT THE CALLS I GET THIS TIME OF YEAR MOSTLY FROM MALES (HUSBANDS OR BOYFRIENDS) LOOKING FOR LITTLE TEENY YOKRIES FOR A CHRISTMAS GIFT!!!!!!!!!! Needless to say, they get an ear full but I do not scream at them as I would like. I do nopt want to be tuned out..So, what do I do? I have posted on another thread but, I give them sites to check and places to research BEFORE even interviewing other breeders. For God's sake--they can buy a nice diamony something or other and a Yorkie charm and consider their job well-done!! I get so emotional about this that frequently, I sit and type like a sob and then delete the post cause I KNOW I will be sent packing... |

QUOTE] Just so you know any good rescue will shut down over the Holiday season as this is not the time to get a new puppy or even older dog. Many times people get dogs for Xmas gifts and are doing it on an impulse during Xmas. It is also very stressful for the dog to come into a home with so much going on during the Holidays with people over or people going away from home. Hopefully you have read where some of our excellent breeders have said, "they won't sell a puppy" during this time either. It is just not good for the puppy. Do not be discouraged because of this but remember rescue's first consideration is what is the best for the dog. This upsets alot of people because they feel they are the best. The foster family knows how these little ones are and each foster has the ideal situation in mind. I do not think I have to repeat what other members have said about the sad situation our country is in with the hugh overpopulation of animals and the cruelty these puppy mills are producing.

| I went looking through the pages on that site. OMG!!! That is just a little of what is going on out there!! It is sooo sad. You don't know who to trust. I have always had small Yorkies but they, luckily have been healthy. I know that the breeder I got my little one from does raise small ones but I have been at her house and have seen that they (many) are very active healthy small ones. I think hers run around as a norm around 3-5 lbs. |
