Just seeing. Glad the vet got the rest out and sure hope the tooth stays put. I like her short beard

I would have never thought of hair around a tooth like that either and yep we learn something every day..I swear I think these little stinkers do it on purpose, just to make sure we are on our toes :D

Thanks and I have positive thoughts about the outcome next week. I am positive she will probably lose more teeth:( last year it was 4 that had to be pulled. I just wish her previous owners had cared for her teeth and at least brushed them.

Thank you Michelle for posting the name of the Dental Rinse. I'll check to see if my Vet carrys it or if not. it's available on the internet from several sites also.

Poor little thing with the hair stuck on her teeth. Glad you got it figured out and fixed.

We have had something similiar here with Piccolo. But it was her hair going down her mouth and throat, not on her teeth. I had to take her to the vet the first time, because I could not see the hair and I could not figure out why she was pulling threads off the carpet and acting so darn weird.

They can do the weirdest things, can't they? Bless you for being such a great mom and hope you are feeling better too.

WOW that is scary about the hair going down into Piccolo's throat:eek: Sometimes I think they do stuff on purpose, just to see if we are on our toes:p and I am feeling so much better myself..should have sucked it up and took myself to the doctor earlier (like I do with my babies:rolleyes:) I just didn't want to be around all the flu viruses hanging around the dr offices.:rolleyes:

Omg that is SO scary!! How in the heck did I not see this? Luma is SO annoying sometimes. She takes her mustache and licks the sides of her mouth to purposely pull her hair into her mouth. She chews on it and sometimes it goes down her throat. I HATE when she does it :(

I honestly do not think our pups are eating or chewing their hair on purpose, but I definitely could be wrong. I think the hair might work itself into their mouth from eating or chewing. What do you think jadabug?

Hope I am not hijacking this thread, but wanted to post an old thread about Piccolo's hair in her mouth. I learned a few things, such as some dogs could wear snoods, when they eat, to keep this from happening.

I get the long Q-tip things with OraVet plaque prevention Gel from my Vet.
These have a long plastic stick and the end has what looks like a flat , arrow shaped eye make up sponge.

DrsFosterSmith.com Sells dental sponges on a long stick a pack of ten is $3.99 They also sell dental pads that you use with your finger and I like them. I get the dental pads at Walgreens in the pet meds section, as suggested by my Vet dentist.

I am sure most dogs it just works its way into the mouth..Jada has a horrible habit of chewing on the ends of her beard. It is intentional on her part. That is one reason I cut her beard shorter :(

The rinse he recommended for Jada was Dentahex. I have tried several other dental products in addition to the CET toothpaste I brush her teeth with. So far I have seen little to no difference with any of them. I had been using the Tropiclean gel and water additive. It doesn't work for her.

Does the Oravet work well? I will ask my vet about it when I take Jada in on Wed. for her dental.

I didn\'t know dogs have this condition...I thought it was a human condition, Trichophagia?
Maybe Jada will benefit from a Korean style hair cut, very short on the muzzle, it\'s very cute... I really want to do this cut on Mimi, but she won\'t let me go near her w/scissors. I have to resort to washing her beard every other day & checking to see she didn\'t get hair in her mouth after every meal.:rolleyes: Things we do for love loll.
