I have read about using mineral oil and ointments to protect the eyes, and I also read that there is a risk of shampoo getting under the protective film and being held against the eye, making matters even worse! I agree with all of the suggestions to use a tearless shampoo and caution when washing the face. Test the shampoo in your own eyes too. I tested a couple and was surprised that one brand stung terribly (John Paul tearless, which I used on Max as a puppy).

I don't know why I call it John Paul. His products are good, but his tearless shampoo isn't tearless.

Princess is the alpha here, if you come by her yard she gives the 'schnauzeroff glare' and growls. She has a very strong perimeter guard instinct, I always introduce the boys to visiting guests and dogs first she comes out after she sees the guest is okay. She is also a female marker. However she has never bitten or attacked I think its all about her assertion of alpha dominance, because once she greets (and sometimes hump dominates another dog) she wants to play and share her toys etc.
