| ![]() I have never heard of giving baby food after throwing up although I have heard of bland food like chicken and rice but I personally am staying away from rice because they are finding arsenic in it. If you do get baby food make sure there is no garlic or onion in it.

| ![]() I give pumpkin if my pup has digestive issues. I have read that you have to be careful with baby food because it may have onion and garlic! If your little one does not want to eat or drink it could be serious.. Watch out for dehydration or low blood sugar. This could be very serious in very small or young dogs. I hope you pup feels better fast

| ![]() Baby food is an alternative many use, I have bit only for more pressing medical issues. Baby food is not designed for or dog safe in general so you have to do extra research ensuring it does not contain onion, sugars etc. I'd opt for a chicken boiled plain chicken breast diet with pumpkin.

| ![]() Because these little ones can go downhill fast, I typically call my vet after one day of vomiting and take them in on day two if they continue to vomit. Dehydration and low blood sugar could be the causes of her not responding or wanting to eat. I would definitely take her to the vet for a check up.

| ![]() she is doing find she not throwing up an more. we have been feeding her rice. and I forgot about arsenic bening in rice. so I am not sure about the rice any now after u told me. I will past that on to my mom and see what she said about it. someone just said to try baby food if she wouldn't eat anything the days that she did throw up. they just said 3 kind of food. we do give her plan chicken a lot. we not to sure if it was a snack that made her sick or the pet fresh. and we haven't giving her any more of either one since so far she doing fine. we will watch what kind of baby food to give her. we still not to sure on how much of the baby food to give her. but we are just thinking about getting 2 of the 3 kinds of baby food when we go to the store tomorrow. |

| ![]() The all meat chicken or turkey baby food is fine to feed as an alternative to a bland diet of boiled chicken and white rice, or it can be mixed in with any food for your dog or puppy (per my vet and the Animal Hospital where I worked). I called Gerber and asked about the onion and was told it has been out of their all meat formulas since 1997. The dinner type foods for older babies is not appropriate as a bland diet for dogs. Specifically, Gerber Stage 2 Chicken or Turkey, and Beechnut Stage 1 Chicken or Turkey. The ham, lamb, and beef flavors are not considered a bland diet. WalMart carries both but the Beechnut is 10 cents cheaper per jar than the Gerbers.

![]() The Beechnut is only the meat and meat broth. I keep some on hand for days that Minnie Mia is picky about eating her dry food. I just mix a small amount in with the dry food. I also keep a can of pumpkin at all times. It works great for tummy problems.

| ![]() Its always a must especially with Yorkies to have nutrical on hand, even if hypoglycemia is not an issue. Nitrical is a short term food suppliment you can get from any vet and at most pet stores.

| ![]() I agree that you might want to ask your Vet, what to feed your pup. That being said I can say I agree with kjc . My picky eaters or dogs that need a step up from no food to bland, before resuming a regular diet have eaten baby food. I make sure it is 100% meat and broth. No salt, sugar, color or spices added. I have used pumpkin to restore the natural flora in their gut.

I just do a little bit that we put in a blow and I mix it in with her dry. when she gotting all that she wants from the blow or gotting all the other out that not dry or even dry sometime she let me know. when she eatting everything in the blow that I had for her I don't get her any more. I don't get a lot in the main blow either. we really want her to eat the dry more then anything else. |
