The all meat chicken or turkey baby food is fine to feed as an alternative to a bland diet of boiled chicken and white rice, or it can be mixed in with any food for your dog or puppy (per my vet and the Animal Hospital where I worked).

I called Gerber and asked about the onion and was told it has been out of their all meat formulas since 1997. The dinner type foods for older babies is not appropriate as a bland diet for dogs.

Specifically, Gerber Stage 2 Chicken or Turkey, and Beechnut Stage 1 Chicken or Turkey. The ham, lamb, and beef flavors are not considered a bland diet. WalMart carries both but the Beechnut is 10 cents cheaper per jar than the Gerbers.
