| Does licking = show of love and affection? I know that this is a silly question, but I always think about it. I guess it's just some sort of paranoia. I just want to know for sure because Mickey loves to lick us, and he does it often and for long stretches. He even licks on command when we say "kiss" to him!!! |

Donating YT 14K Club Member | Also, keep up with teeth cleanings. Tarter can give them smelly breath and it's really gross! When Gracie is through nursing her pups, I'm going to get her teeth cleaned cause with the different foods she's eaten, she has yuck mouth!

| I think it's a sign of effection. My two won't really kiss people they don't know too well - and if they're mad at me (yes, they get mad at me) they won't give kisses...

| I hope so.....Dollar will often lick my toes....lol but he hardly kiss my face. I wish he would more but until here recently he would never kiss on the face. It is a very rare and special thing if he does it.

| Jasmine loves to kiss me on the face. Everytime I pick her up she gives me a kiss. Every night when I put her in bed with us she always goes over to my husbands side and gives him a good night kiss and then settles down to sleep. Her breath always smells good. Why is it that I have loved my other dogs but I never wanted them to kiss me on the face especially the mouth, but she does it and I don't care. What is it about our Yorkies that make them so different. |

| When children come over and lie on the floor with my Yorkie pup ---he licks and kisses the to death and his tail is going 100 mile a minute. He obviously is just beside himself with excitement and joy. It is a wonderful thing to watch. I have never seen a dog want to kiss and lick the face of anyone they didn't like. Carol Jean |

| If puppy kisses aren't a sign of affection, then I've been mistaken for many years!

| I like to consider it love kisses, too, but I think the experts call it an appeasement behavior. |
