I am not so worried about the Mutt issue but, if she is 5 years old and this is her first litter it could be devestating for her. We had a little "mutt" when our kids were younger who we were told had been spayed, well needless to say we were lied to. She was also 5 and it was her first litter. She was half dachshund and something else. It was a very hard delivery and her whole personality changed after. She became a very aggressive biter. It really was sad. Sending prayers for you and your decisions with your new girl. |
Luckily its her second liter. Im pretty sure shes not a mutt but her kids will be. Ive been told multiple times that this pregnancy will go easier cause shes done it before. That's what I'm hoping for! :) |
I really hope so too. I wasn't implying she is a mutt she looks all yorkie to me only saying ours was. :) |
Your baby looks precious!! Sounds like you're getting good advice from more knowledgable people than me. I would just say that any dog that has a litter can have it affect their personalities. I'm not saying it will, but there's a greater chance of having problems later. Our Vet's always suggested to get the girls spayed before they come into their first heat! Just my two cents. She is such a sweetie pie!!:aimeeyork |
@nanahas3 oh no, I know! Sorry if I sounded mean or something. :) I will be getting her spayed after this. I wouldn't want her to go into another pregnancy. That'd probally be horrible for her. Thank you all :) |
To post pics in a reply, hit the "Post Reply" button at the bottom of the thread (instead of the "Post Quick Reply"). You can also hit the "Go Advanced" button next to the "Post Quick Reply". Then, you will see a paperclip icon above the text box and you can upload pics there :) Who is "this guy" that told you that? If he isn't a vet, then don't worry about him. For real. Just make sure you get your little lady to a vet and have the vet ensure everything is ok along the way. "Mutts" are not bad...as a matter of fact, some of the smartest dogs I've had were "mutts." Sure, I would never recommend breeding a mix on purpose, but what's done is done. Just keep her healthy and vet checked...and remember, we are here for support and help. There are many VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE breeders on this forum so if you ever have a problem or question during this, head on down to the Breeders section of the forum and ask away. They will help you so much..and there is a LOT to learn and be ready for in helping a yorkie give birth (I believe it's called whelping..am I right anyone?) I'm trying to learn the terminology of things :) |
1 Attachment(s) thanks! Here's a full body pic. |
Some guy on another forum. Ik Im not worrying bout him. I actually think some mutts are cute! It is called whelping. I'm gonna have to read up on tons of this! :p |

Another question, how do I get my profile pic to show on here? I'm going to start visiting the breeder section, maybe more once shes further along. Right now shes doing fine which is good. That's a good idea lovetodream88. I really wanna make sure these pups go to a good home, ill even interview people if I feel its needed :p. |
To be honest I am a little worried. Shih tuz can have genes that would cause the pups to be too big for a Yorkie. I have a shih tuz that is 26 lbs. his sister was 8 lbs. if the pups run big this could be very bad for your girl..you would have to do c section to save her life. I would have done the spay...that's just me. I wish you the best and pray all goes well |
Oh really? :/ his parents were small, I don't know bout his sisters and brothers though. I really hope all goes well. I appreciate all advice so thanks guys! :) |
