Anyone heard of the Dog Lover's Companion book series? It looks like a guide on where to take your dog... here's a link to Amazon... I'm definitely going to check it out! http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/se...anion+&x=4&y=4

I work in retail I rarey see people sneeking dogs into my store... however I have had to clean up stepped in dog poop. I can see why malls would be strict with not allowing dog inside. We have a sign no pets! You wouldn't take your goldfish with you into any store but a pet store but I've seen one in my store and it's not a pet store.

We take them to the mall in a carrier. no one can tell they are with me. I think if you want to go in store and stuff us a purse not a stroller as it will cause attention. For places that accept pet it is fine to use the stroller.

I live here in Dallas, TX and the 2 malls I go too I see women all the time with their little dogs. Some even walk them in on a leash. Which I can see where that could be a problem. I carry Cordelia in a pet carrier that looks like a purse so when I'm walking around no one notices that I even have a dog with me. A couple of days ago, I went into Club Monaco the other day and I had Cordelia with me. One of the sales people immediately stuck up her nose and rolled her eyes at me. I got the feeling she didn't like the idea of a dog in her store. The only thing I worry about when I carry Cordelia in the mall is that she may start to bark. Which it wouldn't be a loud bark, but enough to get someone’s attention.

I've got kicked out of a mall (Dadeland Mall) for having Mojo, funny thing is, the people in the stores didn;t mind...i was in macys for about 2 or 3 hours and they just approached me to say how cute Mojo was. Later on the mall security told me to leave when i was already on my way out...so no harm done!! There is another mall, it is an open mall that i always see people with small dogs walking around...i wonder if they would kick me out too..lol!!

Dogs are not allowed in any shopping centres in Scotland. I sneak Chico in evrywhere in his puppy carrier. It looks just like a handbag so no one even notices and he is so good and quiet when he's in it that my fiance and I have even taken him to cafes. He goes everywhere unnoticed, trains, subway, shops, bars, even the supermarket!

I live in Dallas too but I'm so scared. I would be embarrassed if I got kicked out of the mall. Which mall do you go to? The Galleria? Willow Bend? Stone Briar? I used to work at the Parks Mall in Arlington and I've seen many people carry their dogs in their arms through Dillards. Most people have them in carriers but a few ladies carry them. | |

Yorkies in mall Geez,Im here to tell you all that my yorkie must be alot different from yours,,there is no way in heck I could take my yorkie in a bag to the mall,,she would jump out first thing,,pounce on the first person she came to and give them a good old fashion yorkie tounge job!! And from there I probaly would never see her again,,she has to meet everyone and lick most of them at least twice. She would never sit still in a bag or a stroller. Is my little sweetie the only yorkie that is like this?? Are there such a thing as calm yorkies?? She is nosier than the old woman next door,,

If Sandy was smaller, she'd be the perfect dog to take to the mall. I swear that dog sleeps 23 hours a day

Allinfun, you just described our Yorkies perfectly! I'm reading all these posts wishing I could take ours, or at least one of them, shopping with me but they would bark and jump and have way more fun than they should. One day I took our biggest Yorkie, FiFi, on a short shopping trip. She had never been to PetCo and she had a blast! Then we went to Subway and I brought a sandwich to the car that we shared. We had "girl day"!!!
