YorkieTalk Newbie! | My yorkie is humping I have this cute little female yorkshire terrier dog, she is one a half year old and got fixed. She has a little dog stuff toy and just lately i noticed that she humps on it and she seems really enjoying it. She would go over the toy and humping over it like crazy, i really don't like looking at her doing that! And she also humps on my leg.. continue reading here She's humping it!!! - News - Bubblews |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | My belief has always been to stop a dog if they hump a leg/person...but not to stop them if they have a toy they like to hump. My 2 males have a stuffed Lover Dog that they both have dates with. My female likes to hump her donut bed, lol - it's really kinda funny! I think it's a natural urge and I think it's also somehow comforting to them (bc my males will often cuddle w/ their Lover Dog after a date ). I read your link, and if you're plan is to try to stop the humping altogether, then I'd suggest you either get rid of that one toy altogether -or- at the very least, wash the hump-toy in the washing machine to get all smells off of it before giving it back. Most importantly, WELCOME TO YT !

| Hi and welcome to YT. Buster has a snuggle puppy toy that we call Bebe. She is his best girl. After he is done he always kisses her ear. I really don't mind and feel it is a natural release of energy. Everyone needs to feel dominate sometimes especially if you are so small. If he was humping my leg I would not allow that because that would be dominance over me and Mommy is the boss. If you are uncomfortable then I agree with Wylie's mom about getting rid of the specific toy or washing it.

| You know, I'm actually glad to hear the responses to your thread. My Schnauzers were "altered" before they had any urges and as such, I didn't know that it was ok. I appreciate hearing the comments as now I feel that I can lighten up a bit about this kind of behavior, on a toy as opposed to on a leg. LOL

| I agree. No humping friends and neighbors, but the toy is okay. It's just something they like to do. |

| Mine barely started humping before she got spayed. Now she is a humper on my arm. She only seems to do it in the privacy of our own home. I think it's funny that she does this only at home. At least she has manners....but I am not used to it. I had a lab and she NEVER did it. My baby turns 1 and she gets a little aggressive when I try to stop her! |

| Well, sadly Charlie has earned the nickname "Hit and run Charlie" because he will run up very quickly hump a couple times and then run off He is fixed has been since 6 months of age but I have no idea how to make him stop and he only does it to a couple people (my mom LOL, my husbands brother, and a friend of my husbands) when we see him doing it we says NO in a firm voice but it doesnt seem to help, he doesnt bother with stuffed toys.
