| ![]() The dogs were going nuts barking. I went to see what was going on and I quickly called them inside. The raccoon was only about 4 feet from them and looked very ill. ![]() |

| ![]() Ugh!! Not good!!! Keep those babies away!!! Rosie was barking like mad, protecting her turf today so when I looked out the window to check on things...5 deer were eating just inside the woods...Anyhow Rosie...I don't think they were too scared of a 6.5 lb noise maker!! ![]()

| ![]() Glad your babies are ok. If he looked sick you should probably report it to animal control.

| ![]() It is probably good that you separated your babies from the raccoon. Even a well raccoon can and will sometimes 'confront' a dog, and my Yorkies are no bigger than some raccoons we see here...so, I keep them away from the wild critters. I am curious what the raccoon was doing/looked like that caused you to believe he was ill. Further action to protect your babies...and possibly the raccoon as well...may be in order.

| ![]() I agree with the OP - racoons coming out during the day is not normal and should be reported to animal control. Glad your babies are safe!

| ![]() I know the mama raccoons come out during the day, but I forget the reasoning. It's not the season for raccoon babies anyway so keep your eyes on the situation. |
