| So I took the dogs out 10 minutes ago and.. this is what I hear (first time I've ever heard it at night)... They are all cool but the FIRST one is what I heard: (scroll down to "Sounds") Red-tailed Hawk, Sounds, All About Birds - Cornell Lab of Ornithology

| I would not like to hear that when out with the pups! I was playing the sounds and my pups started barking

| Yeah, it scared that bajeezus out of me when I heard it. I grabbed Mandie up super fast and told her to just go use her pee pad lol

| When they scream like that does that mean they are getting reading to attack or see prey do you think? That would pretty much curl my hair anytime but at night and with my dog outside, yikes!!!!!!

| I'm not sure. It's a good question. I would think if they were on the hunt, they'd be quiet. Maybe it was calling to another one or something. Either way, it made its presence known to me and I took heed to his warning

| On a side note: I haven't used the term "bajeezus" in months (maybe more). Anyway, I just went to read the "How much does your Yorkie weigh?" thread and saw that Lynzy said the same word in a post yesterday. Must be the word of the week lol

| Heard and saw huge bird the other night when I was outside with Bella. It sounded just like that. Thank heavens she was on her leash. It kept up the screeching as it flew off in the distance. Felt like we were in a scary movie. Scooped her up and walked quickly into the house. No way can she run off leash in our fenced yard with all the owls and hawks around here. |
