If it was me alone I would fight it, but with an infant baby and two dogs and one a little larger I am not sure if she has any other choice because I don't know how she would manage all that even if allowed. Is anyone else from your base flying with you or are you going it alone. If alone I really think you only have two choices, cargo or leave your pets. A pretty crappy choice but unless you had lots of time on your hands to start taking his up the chain of command I think the best thing is to work on ways to make it easier for your pups to manage the flight.
did you know that United has a special department that you can talk to about sending your pets via cargo, they have people set up for layovers to take the dog out and give it water and they also told me the owner can as well, but that they will need to go back through the security check points. So I guess if it was me I would be on the phone with that department and perhaps if possible go down to the airport ahead of times to check some of this out. Then you will need to make sure that you can find out exactly where to go when your flight lands and have a contact name and so forth, since you have your baby this will be harder, but hopefully you have a stroller to use. Also have a back up plan if you can't make it because the flight was delayed and your layover is shorter, and that they have a cell number for you and tht it works in Japan. Also like I said get tranq or sleeping pills for the dogs, but you MUST try them out as soon as you get them during the day so you can see your dogs reaction. This suggestion of course is dependent on if your vet says your dogs are healthy enough to take them. do you have your flights booked, do you mind me asking when you will be traveling? |
