| How a Yorkie will do around singing? I am thinking about getting a Yorkie. I sing opera and teach voice lessons out of my home and am wondering if a Yorkie is the type of dog that will howl/bark when I teach and practice, or in getting a puppy, by exposing him early, I can get him used to the sounds(pretty loud and high at times) and he will not react? Any one have any thoughts on that or suggestions? Thanks!! |

| Hi and welcome to YT! I just tested my terrible singing voice in front of Mandie for you. She would like to thank you for that lol She looked at me for a few seconds and then decided I was boring her and walked into the other room to get her toy. My conclusion is, it will depend on the temperment of the dog I think. No barking here though

| Well, I sing in the car like 24/7 with Jackson, and he could care less, LOL. Our house is very noisy with a 5 year old little girl who loves to go around singing too, and he is not affected.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | My dogs don't mind when I sing at all. The kind of just ignore me. Of course, I do not sing opera .... but I still don't think it would bother them. I play classical guitar. Clyde really likes it and always comes around when I play. I think dogs can do really well around music .... but like someone else mentioned, I also think it has a lot to do with the temperament of the Yorkie you choose. |

| My future son in law is a bass baritone and none of our dogs mind his singing. He can even shake the pictures on the walls. |

Senior Yorkie Talker | Merlin sings to a few songs, started of with a soft toy that sang "how much is the doggie" he now has a soft toy dog that sings "baby love" and a birthday card that sings "happy birthday" think it's the high pitch that makes him sing as radio, CDs ect he takes no notice of. Its so sweet oh and him with all the dogs on the estate howl like crazy if they are outside when emergency sirens can be heard in the distance
