| Should I brush wet or dry? I've always brushed Zoë's hair when dry. I thought her hair would stretch and break if I brushed when wet. When googling yorkies, I came across a site that said I should never brush a yorkie's hair when dry. So, if this is true, should I mist her hair before brushing? I brush her hair and comb her mustache twice a day; in the morning when she gets dressed and in the evening before putting her jammie's on. Thank you! |

| My two are in full coat and when I brush them dry I mist the brush with a conditioning spray to use on them several times during the brushing. This way the hair is slightly dampened but not wet. For mats I prefer a wide tooth metal comb.

| Thank you! I have the Yorkie Shine spray, a Pet Silk detangler, and a spray by Pet Head that I will use going forward. I ordered these sprays for my daughter's Chester. He has a lot of thick hair that is constantly matting. Hoping one of these will work for Zoë and not make her itchy. Zoë has straight, fine hair and not a lot of it so no tangles or matts. nanahas3, great idea about misting on brush. I'll do that. Thanks again! |
