Yes it does and so should it anyone who cares about dogs "purebred" or not. If this is your thinking then no one would breed and no dogs would be around at all, no one can see into the future. We are not going to agree so will not be posting any more re this |
I been feeling for a bit now that breeders are not appreciated here, so sad, I love helping dogs and sometimes that means I have to guide the human so the dog can get the help, I don't care what breed or breeds, to me every dog is important. I am going to start coming here less, because I feel that my guidance is loss in the judgments and arguments.. hugs. Carmen in nj |

The above poster implies that I would prefer there were no breeders when that is far from the truth. I have had purebred dogs all my life so obviously I have nothing against responsible breeders, but people who choose to get offended will read things into a comment that were never there. I had no intention of even posting on this thread until misinformation about shelter dogs started getting tossed around. |

I'm sure there are many people viewing this thread who have chosen not to reply with an opinion. That includes me. Just because I've chosen not to voice my opinion, doesn't mean that I don't appreciate (and don't learn from) what's being written. I think it's good to hear both sides of a situation. I think many people can sympathize with both sides, weigh the good & the bad, and LEARN. Personally, I appreciate hearing different views. I'd like to think that there are other people like me out there. It's the passion of this forum that has kept be coming back multiple times a day. Whether I agree with where the passion is directed, or disagree, is up to me to decide. But I will tell you this - I LEARN something from just about every thread I read - whether I reply or not. So don't go anywhere. Please ;) |

Ladies is NOT about me, is about the DOGS, do you think that the dogs know they are being bred by me or by a BYB? no they don't, and if anyone comes here looking for ANY advise and with help and patience we can help and maybe even change their minds then our job is done! but if we keep the criticism, the judgments, and the name calling then what are we doing? who are we helping? I love helping and I don't think that the way some people go here is the right way.. I know passions run high because we all love animals, but I don't think that being negative every time the word breeder is thrown around is the way to approach this time when the life of a dog and her babies is on the line, and so what If she came to brag about her litter, if nobody posts then she will stop bragging, because she will not answer to her own posts.. just my two cents.. hugs, |

When I first joined YT it was not all the negative posts about me breeding that I got that changed my mind it was the very informative information I got from the breeders here that did that. Yes I needed to know about puppy mills but I also needed to know that so much went into breeding. It doesn't take a true yorkie lover long to realize that they love these little ones and don't want to put them in danger. If someone has their mind set on breeding as the op seems to then it doesn't do us any good to argue with them. We can state our opinions and leave it at that. Truthfully I think anyone googling that wants to breed would take their side if all they read were the arguements and not the great advise from great breeders who take time out of their busy days to help all us novices. God bless. |
Are we to take a whats done is done attitude here and shut up? Really, this is a forum about the Yorkie, the good the bad and the ugly...to sit back and pretend or not advocate until the whole world hears is unrealistic and just because someone is "conversing" and one doesn't agree with it doesn't mean I have to be quiet...no where in that post did I see anything about the OP asking for anything, she started a debate and everyone has a right to state their opinion. I'm not on YT debating religion or politics I'm on YORKIE TALK talking about YORKIES, who happen to be dogs that are often times being bred by byb's, greeders etc., just because its been said on page 152 of the General Discussion doesn't mean it shouldn't be said over and over again. Every opportunity to discuss is a good time to discuss it. Its also good that the breeders help and give their knowlege and input, etc., it is needed, it is often heeded, there is room for everyone on this forum, yes it will always be us, them and THEM...its just the way it is. I regulary help abused kids and their abused parent, am I not to continue to advocate on their behalf?..I think of my dogs and people as extremely important, I will until the day I can't do it anymore advocate, for the children and abused women, seniors, and animals...over and over again...I will not stop because THEY NEED US, yes it will always happen but I'm never going to sit back and pretend it is not and I will never give up... |
I am one of those members reading this, listening to the different opinions, having questions but afraid to post for fear of getting jumped on... but here goes. There are some definite strong opinions here. I completely understand the need to breed a healthy dog, one that has been checked out by a vet and without genetic defects, and one with a good temperament. I keep hearing the phrase "for the betterment of the breed" mentioned. I have heard some say breeds should not be crossed. And the op dogs were called mutts. So is it those member's opinions that in a perfect world, there should only be specific breeds and it is always wrong to cross breeds even if you follow all the other protocol about health and temperament and are breeding for families who are not interested in a registered breed because they only want a pet? |
