| Wow... Interesting read..... I have to admit I laughed a few times... I see where many are confused. I personally took all of this as a joke. It's ok to have a little fun! But I do agree that I hope new members don't take this thread seriously!

| I see no humor in the abuse of animals. This forum is supposed to be for the well being of animals and not to make fun of their abuse. Yes, she is kidding but there are a lot of people who are not kidding about it at all. | My Vet/BCdentist had a client that had his dog's teeth capped with gold. Some folks have prosthetic testicles implanted so their males still appear intact. Not sure if the OP is kidding or not here too...

| My mother had a saying when I did something "wrong" and would blame it on "they were doing it".. she would say "if "they" jump off a cliff would you?" What I am saying is I would not pierce my dogs ears or whatevers because I saw a post about it on yt. I think someone who would make such a choice because they saw a post about this would have done something like it anyways... I hope an adult is not that easily influenced. It was a joke people.... it had me for a minute or two I would NEVER pierce my dogs.. tatoo yes (recuse dogs are often tattooed to show they have been spay)... if we can not laugh life is not worth living!!!!! cool it people... please don't make this into a flamming thread that hurts feelings and takes the laughter away.I so agree in preventing dog abuse.... child abuse... but this is not a thread about an abused dog... it was a joke

Well said I don't think one member that was joking along last night would want any new member to think we were like that.. It was a Saturday night and we were just funning around. And yes some very hot topics were made fun of. Sorry if this offended anyone. No one meant it that way. WE ALL LOVE OUR YORKIES AND WOULD NEVER HARM THEM

| LOL. Well, anybody comes near Tibbe with the intent on piercing him for jewelry placement better be prepared to get hurt!!! My momma bear side would emerge before they had time to blink. Sometimes a sick joke it the funniest, as depraved as that makes me sound. One of the docs I worked for tells a story a psychiatrist friend of him told him about a group of shrinks at a convention and this one telling a particularly awful story about a patient and his long series of one horrible event after the other and he was getting emotional himself. Somebody somewhere in the group seemed to snigger, tried to stifle it. Somebody else sniggered a bit, too. Before long, more than a few little hard-suppressed giggles and then somebody couldn't help themselves and just exploded in laughter. Before long he said the whole group was beating-the-table laughing so hard they were all crying. He said his friend said the group all agreed that sick-humor is quite often cleansing when a lot of tension is building up, particularly with medical types or people who see/feel a lot of pain or experience things intensely. IDK if that applies here or we are all just looney!

| I have spent my life taking in abused animals. It is not funny. Yes, I do take it seriously. People her can have a great laugh about it but you do not know how many people are reading this that do take it seriously. People are doing this to animals on a regular basis. States are having to draw up legislation to put a stop to it. Having to spend tax dollars to stop animal abuse is also not funny. When you have spent thousands your own hard earned dollars helping animals that are the victims of human's cruel jokes then you can tell me how serious it is. |

| ♥Trained by my pups♥ Donating YT 500 Club Member | No one on this site would defend anyone that abused animals. Lots of us too have adopted from shelters. I can understand your concern. But do you really believe members of this site who dress their dogs cook for them. Really are abusing them. Sure we have people come and go that may and that is very very sad. But I think the majority think just as you do. Jmo

I can't speak for a psychiatrist that sits in an office and writes scripts all day for the social workers and psychologists that actually see the patients. | |

| Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I'm completely sure this thread was meant in good fun, and I can understand that the people who are having fun with it see the humor and enjoy it. That's fine. What's not fine/nice/cool/kind/funny is when some members express their concerns over the topic and express that they don't see the humor -- and then, some folks proceed to address them with pretty snide and mean comments. Why do that? The point? If they're concerned or disagree, let them do so. Just as the other side has had 10 pages of their take on the topic - enjoying the funny side of it that they see, let others have their say as well. Don't make fun of them for having another interpretation. Their feelings and thoughts are just as important as anyone else here. Be respectful; it's not asking that much. And finally, please do be mindful and careful when making jokes of things that might ride the cusp of potentially causing harm. I know that's vague, but we're all smart enough to know what that means. I know this thread had absolutely no bad intentions in being started, but I can see how it could plant some unfortunate ideas in certain people who aren't safe with those kinds of ideas when it comes to vulnerable animals.
