| I have an appointment for the vet on Monday. As for having separate food and water bowls, how do you keep them from eating out of each others? |

| Eating out of each others if fine unless they are on two different foods. But if one is eating and the other is hungry they need to have a bowl to eat from the same with drinking.

| If they are eating out of the same bowl it is going to be hard to know who is getting the right amount of food until someone either gains weight or loses it. If you can feed them out of separate bowls but be near by to see who is eating and how much, it would be better for both. If they don't finish their food then pick up the dishes and give it to them again later. |

| Welcome! There are 5 small dogs here, none weigh the same,so the calorie need is different for each. We do have a feeding schedule AM and PM. I own about 15 glass custard cups. PM dogs recieve approx 1/4 cp of Blue Buffalo Grain Free, the bigger dog gets a bit more, the Chi gets a bit less ( we are working on his weight). I line the bowls up,stand or sit in the room and they SNARF. AM each gets approx 1/4cp of food that I make (rice, chicken, peas, carrots, riso pasta made in advance and kept in the freezer) and a bit of BB on top. I line the bowls up and they again SNARF. If someone spits the "life source" bits out, someone else is happy to eat them. The chi puts them on the floor and eats them all at once. They get treats throughout the day (BB little cookies, treats that I make, carrots). The age range is 13yrs to 2yrs. I have always had toy breed dogs but Mina is my first yorkie, she is like having a child in the house. They do get cold easially, you can order sweaters online and I think that there are a couple of doggie boutiques in Springfield. I havent ever seen any doggie clothes at the big mall in Branson. We make a trip there every spring. I hope that your new addition will settle in quickly. |
