| Help I was wondering if anyone can help me. My 11 month old yorkie gets very excited when my partner gives me a hug or a kiss. For example when my partner wakes up in the morning Benji will swag his tail and start whining and go crazy to get at him. Or when my partner gives me a hug or kiss Benji she try to jump up on him and twirl around and jump up again and again and whine. He won't do it to me just to him. We don't understand what that means. Benji could be just laying there and my partner will come in the room or the kitchen and give me a kiss and Benji will go crazy trying to get up on him. Or if i am on my treadmill and my partner comes in and gives me a kiss Benji will go nuts trying to get up on him and he follows him around the house jumping on him and my partner has to go into another room to get away from him. Just wondering why he does that. Benji is my dog and I take care of Benji. And when I tell him to stop Benji don't even listen to me like he don't even hear what I am saying to him. It is frustrating. :-( |

YT 1000 Club Member | Sounds like Benji is a tad bit jealous and wants some affection too . But in all seriousness I think this is somewhat normal dog behavior. My bulldog wants hugs/kisses if I hug/kiss my son and my yorkie barks if my hubby gives me kisses/hugs. If the behavior gets to be too annoying you can curb it by saying a brisk "No" or making a "tsk" noise. I'm sure others will be on later to offer more advice |

| It sounds like Benji is jealous. My Brandi use to do the same thing if I showed my cat attention. I would just ignore her or I would turn my back. She eventually stopped. |

| ♥ Here is what also happens, in the morning when I wake up I take Benji out and bring him back in and we go back to bed. Now when I get up he doesn't make a move. I can go to the kitchen or bathroom and he will just stay there on the bed and not move but if my partner, Russell stirs Benji gets all excited and the tail starts going. When Russell gets up out of bed Benji goes nuts. When Russell goes out into the kitchen Benji jumps off the bed and tries to jump up at him and goes after his ankles. If Russell is down the hall in his computer room and I am with Benji, he doesn't get like that. I take Benji out, I play ball with him, I lay and cuddle with him, I feed him, I rub his belly and tell him I love him but I don't get the same reaction as if Russell was there. It makes me feel like I am just his care taker and Russell is his owner. Russell don't care for dogs but he is nice to Benji because he is mine. Or suppose to be anyway. |

| benji probably senses russell is not really a dog man if you will. when russell is there you should have him feel benji treats, his dinner, grooming, walkes things you would normally to so anything to get them to bond more. benji can sense any feelings russell may have so the more russell relaxes and bonds with the benji the better.

| I just saw the same behavior when my nephew came to town. He is a high functioning autistic and just for whatever reason doesn't respond to Jess. So Jess follows him everywhere, goes around his feet, gets all excited and even jumped up on him on the couch (she knows that's not allowed) My nephew doesn't move to touch her or anything. I think it is almost like they are trying to get the attention everyone else gives them from that person. Its like a challenge for them. (kind of like with humans, you want what you cant have) |

| Help Have you ever seen the cartoon Spike and Chester. Well Russell is Spike and Benji is Chester. Like this morning when I woke up I can go to the washroom and come back to bed and roam around and Benji won't move or get excited but if Russell moves to get up Benji goes nuts. Russell goes to move Benji goes crazy. I feel like I am just needed when he needs to go out or get rid that is it. Even when we take him to the vet and Russell is driving Benji will whin and try to get over with Russell. When Russell is around Benji won't even look at me. If I try and give him attention Benji just ignores me like I am not even there. I don't know what to do about it. Benji just turned a year old the 4th of this month. |

| Hi everyone ♥ I can text anywhere in the USA and Canada. I was just wondering if anyone wishes to keep in touch with me so I can talk about Sir Benji with them. It would be a great way to stay in touch every day. Linda ( angelhugs ) |
