YT 2000 Club Member | Tuck cant have them, they make him sick.. But most food and treats do. Ive tried the antlers and he didnt care for those either. I use either the hymalian chews or good ole fashion heathly baked bones from my local feed store.

| i use odorless bestbullysticks...cut them if they get stringy from chewing. watch how small they get....throw them away regularly. i dont let them go more than a week old..which they dont last that long usually. you have to monitor anything you feed as a chew treat for choking hazard imo. no gi upset for us they love them and they didnt want anything to do with deer antlers. so bull penius is it! ewww.

well that is normal in my experience. i used to buy them for my airedale terrier who is a very powerful chewer but they got just like that and also made his gums bleed.. i also worried about broken teeth.. he does not get them anymore.. i tried an elk antler for him but it had the same effect as the nylabone so that was out too... i will probably get crucified for this but i buy him heavy duty extra thick rawhide retriever rolls from Wholesome Hide.Com they last him a long time and they dont break apart or make his mouth bleed.. | Any dog with a chew toy, plastic or otherwise, should be observed while they are chewing. I get 12" long, regular thickness, bully sticks for my 5lb dog. When they get around 3 to 4" I throw them away. She is never left alone with a chew stick. |

| Troy doesn't like bully sticks. Surprisingly he prefers a pork pizzle. They are the same concept just a different animal protein. Plus they are a little smaller so easy for my 4lb guy to tote around.

| I have an assortment of pups, and have had more than most people over the past 8 years, and they do not and/or have not killed the Nylabones. I do not feel ANY need to supervise them with them. I am not going to sit here and discuss this any further with people who have no experience with them and who use edible chews that definitely require very close supervision. People choose what they want to give their pups...and they can choose to believe me or not. I only make suggestions on YT about things I have experience with in the hopes it will help others. Just as others do. So people can take what they read and make their own choices. They also can use Google and do searches for things like: Dura Hard Nylabone problems - (IF they do a search for Nylabone problems they WILL find issues with the soft ones.....they are scary to me. I will not use them. Oh..and the plaque attack ones...stay away!) Bully Stick Problems Then, read and decide. Brit, I would have to see it to believe it. I don't know of any pup that could do that to a Dura Hard Nylabone in that short of a time period. Don't know what else to say......

| Bought my first bully sticks ever this afternoon. Did not know what they were made of... had just seen threads here that talked about how much Yorkies like them. First of all -- sticker shock! Those things are expensive! got just two six inch sticks. One for Max and one for Marley. My guys destroy the Nylabones, too, but I want to go back to a pet store and look for the super strong ones Lady Jane talks about. Anyway, I shopped quite a bit this afternoon, and while carrying in bags, I laid the PetCo bag on the floor with the groceries. Marley went nuts! Retrieved a bully stick and headed under the bed. Gave the other to Max, and he chewed non stop for an hour. Decided that was enough and took them away. Both boys whined at the drawer I put them in until I took them out and put them in the garage. They stink... and I will wait to see if we get any tummy distress before they get them again. But I can say, I've never seen them take to any other chew toy like these. I just wish they weren't bull Penis's. Seems pretty gross. |
