| Yes, some dogs are happy out side, like Siberian Husky on the trail. But most want in your heart and bed. Where you live, and local custom makes the difference. I am sure most of us are sad by the idea of a dog left outside . I grew up on a farm and only tiny dogs were pets allowed in the house. Daddy had packs of hunting dogs and they ate scraps and lived outside year round most on chains hooked to a dog house. All the cats were outside some were allowed on the porch and Granny had a favorite few. Times have changed. Most dogs and cats today are thought as 'pets', not just workers on the farm, cart puller, mouse hunters, coon catcher and duck fetcher. I am so glad. Even back in the 1950s as a young girls my sisters and I believed doggies were so much more than hunters ! I hope this story has a happy ending. Update us with how it works out.

| What if they have a doggy door? My dog had one at my old townhouse and she would literally be outside ALL DAY. But that was her choice...when she wanted to come in she could. Granted, she is a bigger dog (talking about my lab), but just because the dog is outside doesnt mean they dont ever go inside.
